Brandon Uranowitz Biography

was most recently nominated for a 2014 Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Play for his portrayal of Arnold Beckoff in Harvey Fierstein’s acclaimed Torch Song Trilogy, directed by Michael Kahn. Mr. Uranowitz has appeared on Broadway in An American in Paris, Baby, It’s You! and in the Broadway National Tour of RENT, with original stars Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal, and directed by three-time Tony Award nominee Michael Greif. Mr. Uranowitz played Modell in the pre-Broadway workshops of Diner, directed by Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall, and adapted for the stage by the film’s original writer/director Barry Levinson, with an original score by Sheryl Crow. Mr. Uranowitz was nominated for a 2009 Falstaff Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Feste in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, off-Broadway. Regionally, he played Adult Eugene in Neil Simon’s Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound, produced in repertory at the prestigious Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, California. On television, Mr. Uranowitz has appeared on Comedy Central’s “Inside Amy Schumer” and on “Law and Order: Criminal Intent”. He co-stars in the 2014 film Stage Fright, alongside Minnie Driver. Mr. Uranowitz is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts.
