Casey - I could totally see him morphe into that character. I am looking forward to seeing him with The High Kings when they get here. If their management have any savvy, they will put him in the spotlight, as he is way more well known than the other guys in the USA. Plus, a lot more photogenic too!

Leanne Bendul - The casting agency for "Million Dollar Quartet" approached him with a leading role offer in December. A colleague told me that the financial offer didn't meet his expectations, so it was turned down. I think he did do the audition though, and got the part of Jerry Lee Lewis.

Sebastian - Hearing her show is one of those rare occasions, where life appears more beautiful to you afterwards. I had the chance to hear one of her shows in Berlin and her interpretations of the outstanding compositions of M. Legrand have everything of what music is there for! She's got the most soulful, warm, passionate, powerful and touching voice - and anybody hearing her will come up feeling blessed and gifted! What more can one whish for? And not to forget her fantastic band ... I wish I could be there, so everyone reading this in and around NY should grab their chance!

Lyn - First of all, your writing skills are lacking, so I'm wondering if the Esq. following your name is authentic. It's not "bitter sweet", but bittersweet. One word. And we don't "bare witness", we bear witness. Surely, a real lawyer would have known that. Your sentence which begins "When there has been so much love...." is structured incorrectly. If you begin with a "when" statement, you must have a "then" statement to preserve the symmetry. And finally, your "grander women" is plural when you really want to remain singular. Therefore, it should say "grander woman". Mr. Prince, you are not a lawyer, you are a fake. Take the Esq. away from your name.

Jana - Did you watch the same play? The show we watched "The Blue Room" was a huge disappointment. The acting was poor, accents way off, and the lead female needs to be cast in another part. With all the great actors/actresses in L.A., one wonders how and why these two were cast together. 10 of us who say the play together all agreed. A real bore.

Neal Prince, Esq. - Today marks a profound bitter sweet milestone for all of us. As we bare witness to both an end and a beginning. And while we must continue on, we must also be grateful to have been blessed with Ms. Havoc, who so ably guided us to where we are today. When there has been so much love and happiness with her that it is natural to be reluctant to close such a wonderful chapter in our lives. Moving forward is rarely accomplished without considerable grief and sadness. But with this, there will never be a grander women and a kind heart, as Ms. Havoc.... FPCT's Eleemosynary: Tough Play, Honorable Try 2010/03/13
Posted: 3/30/2010
Real Review - Eleemosynary Through April 11 at Fells Point Corner Theatre Two of the three characters in Lee Blessing's Eleemosynary, now at the Fells Point Corner Theatre, are familiar theatrical types. Dorothea is the colorfully eccentric older woman like Auntie Mame or the Madwoman of Chaillot, while Echo is the put-upon normal child of an eccentric family like Alice in You Can't Take It with You or Patrick in Mame. Artie, by contrast, is a character rarely glimpsed in any theater. She not only pursues her career at the cost of neglecting her daughter Echo, but also refuses to feel bad about it. Yes, she admits, it's unfortunate that a young widow with a month-old baby, a serious science job, and a needy mother (Dorothea, of course) had to make such a decision, but she made her choice and is prepared to live with it. Audience members accustomed to the rules of stage and screen wait for this woman, who turned her daughter over to the grandmother for raising, to break down and admit she made a terrible mistake. The scene doesn't come and doesn't come, and each delay makes the anticipation all the greater. Near the end of the show, when the audience realizes the formulaic climax may never arrive, a different kind of catharsis occurs: the epiphany that such a woman may not be required to apologize. That tension is enough to make a fascinating evening of this ambitious but flawed production of an ambitious but flawed play. The playwright himself seems only dimly aware that Artie is the most interesting aspect of his script. Blessing keeps loading up the show with intellectual baggage, pitting empiricism vs. superstition, memory vs. forgetting, music vs. the meaning of words. Such dialectics are all well and good for undergraduate seminars, but on stage they tend to make the eyes glaze over. The author even gives the play a misleading title. "Eleemosynary" is one of the words that wins Echo the National Spelling Bee, but its definition, "charitable," seems inappropriate for these three women who are anything but altruistic. Baltimore director Sherrione Brown, by contrast, knows just where the heart of the play lies, and she gives the key role of Artie to the best actress in the cast: Marianne Germaine. Actresses Joan Crooks and Jenn Mikulski, as Dorothea and Echo, respectively, employ the big gestures and funny voices appropriate for their flamboyant characters. Germaine, by contrast, is an island of stillness in the choppy sea of the acting around her. A small woman with brown bangs and high, rosy cheekbones, Germaine makes her biggest impact by being quiet and self-contained every time Artie's mother or daughter tries to bait her into a noisy argument. Germaine creates dramatic tension simply by defying the theatrical convention of loud family squabbles. In a flashback, we see Artie strapping on two pillowy white wings and climbing a wooden tower to prove her mother's contention that human beings can fly by will power alone. By the time Artie turned 18, she had been so scarred by her own mother's nutty, new-age pursuits and stage-mother habits that the teenager ran away from home. When she had a daughter named Barbara, Dorothea swooped in, renamed the child Echo, and took over all maternal responsibilities. Despairing of ever winning such a battle, Artie simply surrendered. She went off to do research in Europe, while the wealthy widow Dorothea raised Echo by herself. The play begins and ends as a 75-year-old Dorothea is dying from a series of strokes. Echo assiduously tends to the unconscious woman, even holding imaginary conversations with the grandmother who raised her. The death brings Artie back from her university to deal with the question of who will raise 13-year-old Echo now. The result is one more confrontation that resists all expectations. The play is largely told through monologues addressed directly to the audience, a static approach that dampens the drama's impact. The show is further weakened by some line stumbles and by an unattractive set of two white-sheet curtains and a lumpy bed. Yet when Artie engages Dorothea or Echo in actual dialogue, the sparks fly--not because Germaine erupts into anger or dissolves into tears, but because she so stubbornly refuses all pressure to do so.

RIALTO CHATTER: BORN YESTERDAY Headed to Broadway with Hayley Atwell & Chris Noth? 2010/03/27
Posted: 3/30/2010
Kuriouscat - Chris Noth you use a miracle cream, the wrinkles and furrows, wash out like a dream. I've seen it being used on something before, I think it was polish, on the kitchenette floor. No. 101. "Jet black" for men, away with the grey, its good stuff "ye ken". A wee dab here, and a wee dab there, gives you a mop, of fine black hair. It glints in the limelight, and offers lens flare, the crowds are agog, at the sight of your hair. Appearance is premium, at this show tonight, you puff out your chest, with all of your might. Your appearance of late, has really changed, I think your becoming, a little deranged. A mid life crises, may be the reason, springtime vanity, it is certainly the season. Your butt has reduced, at an alarming rate. going, going, gone! oh no its too late! You have nothing left, for Tara to grab, you will have to get feeding, on some tubs of lard! Restoring your butt, will take patience and time, no problems says you, "Im a man in my prime". Give me some cakes, a biscuit or two, "I'll soon have my butt, winking at you". It is an art, getting your butt to wink at folk, "Its no problem for me, after all, I'm a bloke". You act out good qualities, that women do like, Occasionally your told, to "get on yer bike"! Your butt is so neat, and tidy, I ogle it often, but mostly on Friday. Your legs are light brown and hairy, a wee bit rough, for a kiddies "tooth fairy". Your butt's so fine, you could swipe through a visa, you better not grimace, in case of a seizure. But then again, you could try an Express, but maybe that, would, be too much of a mess. You have become, a product icon for men, with that name, that sounds like Bionical Gem. It pulls out the creases and makes you all smooth, a bit of pink plaster, to fill out the grooves. So every morning, get out your trowel, fill it with muck, and sort out your scowl. A wee dod here, and wee dod there, better be careful, not in the hair. Your previous wrinkles, were nice and homely, something to climb into, when feeling all lonely. A bit of spare baggage, under your sockets, could come in handy, when you run out of pockets. But now, theres no more swags and tails, unless, the innovative rollerball fails. Your versatile image, can run rough or smooth, but you have to remember, to fill in the grooves....

3dmania - Nothing will pop out. It's simply 3D and that leads to seeing things better (unless you have major eye problems). But it's like looking out of your window to the outside. You can see depth, but nothing pops out. If a bird flies up to your window you see it in 3d. Cover one eye to see what you see on a normal TV.
