In this splintered adaptation of Cervantes' novel, Isabel makes a 500 mile pilgrimage across Spain on the Camino de Santiago. Don Quixote: a pilgrimage mixes the massive (and metafictional) novel with a wide variety of modern sources. It examines the power of pilgrimage, how we get lost, and how we can find ourselves again. Available Light's latest world premiere production is the result of a year-long collaboration between playwright Jen Schlueter (Joint Artistic Director of the for/word company) and Available Light's company of artists. Rather than attempting to directly adapt Cervantes's nine-hundred page masterwork (widely regarded as the first modern novel) the collective used the book as a starting point to explore its structure, characters, themes, and contemporary relevance. The finished work is an homage to Don Quixote's influence, featuring characters from the book mixed with Schlueter's invented story of a woman, Isabel, making a pilgrimage across modern-day Spain. Meanwhile, Sancho Panza and Rocinante (a trusty nag) are searching for their lost master. Isabel follows the famed Camino de Santiago as she confronts everything she's been avoiding for so many years. On the road and off, she encounters numerous pilgrims from around the world, each one trekking slowly but surely away from" past. Don Quixote: a pilgrimage is supported by grants from the Greater Columbus Arts Council, the Columbus Foundation, and the Ohio Arts Council. Additional funding was provided by more than thirty individual supporters through the GCAC's Power2Give online crowd-funding platform.

Maggie ("The Cat") and her husband Brick Pollitt (an aging football hero) have a turbulent relationship. We find them visiting with Brick's family at Big Daddy's estate. Big Daddy has just been diagnosed with cancer but he and Big Mama are unaware of it because his doctors and family have conspired to conceal this information. His relatives attempt to present themselves in the best possible light, each hoping to receive their proper share of Big Daddy's enormous wealth in his will. Maggie, through wit and beauty, has escaped a childhood of desperate poverty to marry into the wealthy Pollitt family; ever since the suicide of his friend Skipper, though, Brick has neglected his wife and is indifferent about the disposition of the family fortune. This is a story of greed and deception within a patriarchal Southern family.

Tennessee Williams' beautiful and grotesque drama about the murder of a young man in Europe one summer is the lyrical master's etude on the visceralness and violence of lust and passion. In order to come to grips with the tragedy, Catharine Holly, the sole witness and the victim's closest cousin, is given a truth serum in order for her to purge the trauma. The result is wickedly fascinating poetry pouring from the deepest places of heart and gut. Famed theater critic Walter Kerr wrote that "The very reluctance with which the grim, hopeless narrative is unfolded binds us to it; Mr. Williams threads it out with a spare, sure, sharply vivid control of language and the spell is cast."
