Five Finger Death Punch Exceed Fundraising Goal For “5FDP4VETS-No One Gets Left Behind”
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH delivered an important message to the world earlier this week with their riveting music video for the new single, "Wrong Side of Heaven."
The music video evinces the jaw-dropping and stunning statistics of returning veterans afflicted and living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Watch the clip here: http://vevo.ly/wM96O1. In order to raise awareness, the multi-platinum-selling worldwide rock juggernaut didn't simply talk about the issue--they also went and did something about it...
In tandem with the video's premiere, the group ignited a special crowd-funding campaign for a jersey entitled 5FDP4VETS "No One Gets Left Behind" on Indiegogo. The campaign's goal of raising $50,000 was bested by double in less than two day's time--exceeding $100,000. The campaign continues to run and the proceeds will benefit organizations that joined forces with the group to raise awareness for veterans suffering from PTSD.
Fans who pledged will receive a limited-edition jersey created and designed by guitarist ZOLTAN BATHORY. The initial run of shirts ran out, and the band expanded it by 1,000 in order to keep up with the overwhelming demand.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH also hosted a special screening of their new video "Wrong Side Of Heaven" at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada, showing their appreciation for the military up-close-and-personal this past Monday; watch the local news coverage of the event here: http://bit.ly/1rotjIv. The video has amassed over 500,000 views in less than 48 hours since it's premiere on VEVO Monday, touching viewers everywhere with its poignant message.
In addition, the band launched the webpage www.5fdp4Vets.com. It sheds light on veterans afflicted with PTSD, their struggles, and offers a video call-to-action to fans asking them to send in their fallen loved ones' dog tags to build a memorial wall commemorating them. This memorial wall will be prominently featured on the band's upcoming fall arena tour as their backdrop. Once the tour concludes, the proper museum will be sought out to showcase this memorial to the fallen heroes who gave their lives serving our country.
Undoubtedly one of the most relevant and successful rock bands globally, 5FDP dominated 2013 with the releases THE WRONG SIDE OF HEAVEN AND THE RIGHTEOUS SIDE OF HELL, VOLUME 1 and VOLUME 2. Both volumes debuted on the U.S. Billboard album chart at #2 (more notably, within a four-month period) and in the top ten mainstream charts all across the globe. The two albums feature two #1 radio hit singles ("Lift Me Up" featuring Rob Halford of Judas Priest and "Battle Born") and have combined sales of over 650,000 units to date. The multi-million selling rock titans' last single, "House Of The Rising Sun" was their 13thconsecutive top ten hit at Active Rock Radio.
USA TODAY proclaimed: "VOLUME 2 elevates the group to the top of its game. Offering more than blind rage, though there's certainly plenty, the songs live in the tension implied by the album's title--aware of the implications of lashing out, ready to accept the consequences" (11/19/13). Following Australia's Soundwave Festival and shows across Japan and South East Asia, the band concluded a sold out European headlining tour earlier this year. FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH is Ivan Moody (vocals), Zoltan Bathory (guitar), Jeremy Spencer (drums), Jason Hook (guitar) and Chris Kael (bass).
