Lana Del Rey Composing For Luhrmann's GREAT GATSBY?

Lana Del Rey Composing For Luhrmann's GREAT GATSBY?Hipster music/fashion darling Lana Del Rey has taken to her Twitter with a single word, "GATSBY", fueling rumors she is participating in the new feature film adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's heralded, seminal novel THE GREAT GATSBY, directed (in 3D, no less) by Baz Luhrmann.

Accompanying the lone word on Twitter was a mock-up of Del Rey's image in poster art for the film, which is set to be released this Summer, prominently featured on her Facebook page.

The image has subsequently been removed. Visit her Facebook page here.

Lurhmann has acquired the services of none other than rap mogul Jay-Z to music supervise and compose original music for the film, so Del Rey's inclusion into the music mix and a potential Del Rey/Jay-Z collaboration makes it even more delicious. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan.

No official confirmation has been released about Del Rey's involvement.

In November, Del Rey hinted at her work on a future musical project that could very well be THE GREAT GATSBY, saying, "I've been helping composers write scores for movies. So, like, there's a movie coming out in the summer that's set in the 1920s and it's been fun for me to write love songs for the woman who is the star." Sounds like Daisy, does it not?
