Scoop: Food Network - July 2017 Programming Highlights

Food Network is beating the heat this July with all new series and returning favorites. Monday nights get a little sweeter as Guy Fieri hands over the keys to his grocery store to Duff Goldman as he hosts the all-new series Dessert Games premiering Monday, July 10th at 8pm giving four talented bakers the chance to compete in dessert-themed market challenges each week for the opportunity for a $10,000 shopping spree. Following at 9pm and 9:30pm Natalie and Dave Sideserf are creating jaw dropping, lifelike cakes that leave their clients wowed on all-new episodes of Texas Cake House.

Plus, don't miss a minute of the competition as Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis continue their search for the hottest food television talent in the country on new episodes of FOOD NETWORK STAR on Sundays at 9pm. Also in primetime, don't miss premieres of Beat Bobby Flay, Chopped, CHOPPED Junior, Cooks vs. Cons, Diners, Drives-Ins and Dives, Ginormous Food, Guy's Grocery Games and Incredible Edible America with the Dunhams.

Beat Bobby Flay
  • Premiering Thursday, July 6th at 10pm - "Salty and Sweet"
Cooking Channel's BEACH BITES WITH KATIE LEE host Katie Lee and The Chew's Carla Hall have a sweet surprise in store for Bobby Flay. They've brought in the cream of the crop, chefs Bruno Feldeisen and Michelle Gayer, for a chance to sweeten the pot with a win.
  • Premiering Thursday, July 13th at 10pm - "Record Breaking"
It's West Coast versus East Coast as Michelin-starred Jarad Gallagher and worldly Joshua Bedford aim to teach Bobby Flay a thing or two in the kitchen. Here to lead them to victory are celebrity chef Josh Caponand sportscaster Jaymee Sire.
  • Premiering Thursday, July 20th at 10pm - "Sugar and Spice, But Not So Nice"
Iron Chef Gauntlet host Alton Brown and Travel Channel's Adam Richman know losing is never sweet. To ensure that doesn't happen, they've brought in pastry chefs Josh Johnson and Dana Cree, who both want the sweet rush of victory against Bobby Flay!
  • Premiering Thursday, July 27th at 10pm - "Fancy Vs. Rustic"
The CLAWS are out as The Kitchen's Sunny Anderson and Katie Lee try their best to get Bobby Flay beat. They've brought in polar opposites, sweet but ferocious Angie Berry and Italian stallion Giuliano Matarese, who are both gunning for victory.

  • Premiering Tuesday, July 4th at 10pm - "Bangin' Backyard Cookout"
The chefs imagine they're making a memorable meal for a backyard party in this cookout competition. A wacky hybrid protein and a ketchup stand-in are two of the ingredients the competitors must work into appetizers. Burger fixings but no beef in the second basket force the chefs to get creative, then a clever edible centerpiece meets a crunchy snack in the dessert basket.

  • Premiering Tuesday, July 11th at 10pm - "Flour Power"
Four bold female bakers attempt to rise to the challenge and clinch a $10,000 victory. A dough typically used for flatbreads and a strong-tasting melon are two of the mystery basket items in round one. A different dough is at the center of the second basket, prompting the competitors to bake again. Then, the two women who make it to the dessert round jump at the chance to show off their pastry skills in final dishes featuring a marshmallow spread and lemon balm.

  • Premiering Tuesday, July 18th at 10pm - "Clam Clash"
In the lightning-fast first round, the chefs must create appetizers in just 20 minutes from clams and a sweet dried fruit. Squid ink and a strong-flavored candy are part of the entrée round puzzle. Then, a pie made of beans and an alcoholic drink made with sorbet are two of the mystery basket ingredients for dessert.

  • Premiering Tuesday, July 25th at 10pm - "Clock Shock"
The chefs get some gorgeous crustaceans and a fancy pasta in the first basket, and the clock surprises them with its speed. Then, the judges hope that the competitors make the most of an expensive mushroom in round two. Finally, one of the last two chefs runs into trouble while trying to make an apple dessert.

Chopped Junior
  • Premiering Tuesday, July 4th at 8pm - "Cookin' For a Cookout"
In this competition packed with backyard barbecue ingredients, the judges are on the lookout for a Choppedcookout champion! The appetizer round reveals a popular potato dish and a protein meant for grilling. The junior chefs get some more cookout classics in the entrée round when they find a saucy side dish and burgers. Then, the finalists get to work with a very sweet pie and a sour dairy product.

  • Premiering Tuesday, July 11th at 8pm - "Sibling Showdown"
Two sets of siblings compete individually for $10,000, and must pair pancetta and pasta in the first round. Some adorable food animals must make their way into entrées, then a dessert tower excites the finalists in the last round.

  • Premiering Tuesday, July 18th at 8pm - "Fast Food Face-Off"
With a healthy fast food theme in effect, a new group of kid cooks must make appetizers using a popular condiment and seafood. An ancient grain bread is paired with poultry in the entrée basket, and the dessert basket contains a frozen fruity Italian treat.

  • Premiering Tuesday, July 25th at 8pm - "Kids With Chops"
The junior chefs come out strong in the appetizer round, when they are tasked with pairing a baby vegetable with pickled fruit. In round two, the junior chefs must figure out how to work mushroom-flavored snacks into their entrée courses. Then, the two finalists find creative ways to make desserts with a never-melting ice cream snack and marshmallows.

Cooks vs. Cons
  • Premiering Wednesday, July 5th at 10pm - "Baseball BBQ"
Host Geoffrey Zakarian and judges Daphne Oz and Marcus Samuelsson throw the cooks and cons a curve ball in round one by tasking them with fusing corn and hot dogs. After one contestant strikes out, the remaining contestants continue to round two in hopes of making their best dish incorporating barbecue.
  • Premiering Wednesday, July 12th at 10pm - "Biscuits and Gravy"
In round one, the cooks and cons must incorporate berries into their biscuit and gravy dishes in order to impress host Geoffrey Zakarian and judges Aarti Sequeira and Curtis Stone. Then, in round two, the cooks and cons try to play nice in a battle of licorice.
  • Premiering Wednesday, July 19th at 10pm - "High Steaks"
In round one, the cooks and cons try to get on the gravy train by creating chicken-fried steak dishes with peas. Then, in round two, host Geoffrey Zakarian and judges Beau MacMillan and Daphne Oz go nuts attempting to grind out the pros and cons after they are challenged with using pecans in their dishes.
  • Premiering Wednesday, July 26th at 10pm - "Meatball Madness"
In the first round, meatball subs sound easy enough, but it takes some pro moves to make them with unusual buns. In round two, things get juiced up when host Geoffrey Zakarian tasks the cooks and cons with incorporating pomegranates. It'll be up to judges Aarti Sequeira and Justin Warner to decide who enjoys the fruits of victory!
