THE GOOD DINOSAUR, MONSTER'S UNIVERSITY Among Upcoming Films Announced by Pixar

At this year's CinemaCon today, Disney/Pixar chief creative officer, John Lasseter, announced a few of the animated projects in the studio's pipeline. Among them are:

An animated project based on the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos (as of yet untitled) is slated for a 2015 release. Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich is reportedly attached to direct with Darla Anderson producing.

The previously untitled upcoming project directed by Bob Peterson is now called The Good Dinosaur with a scheduled release date of May 30th, 2014. The official Disney/Pixar synopsis of the film is as follows: What if the cataclysmic asteroid that forever changed life on Earth actually missed the planet completely and giant dinosaurs never became extinct? This hilarious, heartfelt and original tale is directed by Bob Peterson (co-director/ writer, "Up;" writer, "Finding Nemo") and produced by John Walker ("The Incredibles," "The Iron Giant").

The untitled feature directed by Pete Docter that will take a trip into the human mind has been pushed back until June 19th, 2015. The official teaser synopsis for the untitled project is as follows:

Pixar takes audiences on incredible journeys into extraordinary worlds: from the darkest depths of the ocean to the top of the tepui mountains in South America; from the fictional metropolis of Monstropolis to a futuristic fantasy of outer space. From director Pete Docter ("Up," "Monsters, Inc.") and producer Jonas Rivera ("Up"), the inventive new film will take you to a place that everyone knows, but no one has ever seen: the world inside the human mind.

Other upcoming Pixar projects include Monsters University, directed by Dan Scanlon, which is scheduled for June 23, 2013, and Brave, which will be released in theaters on June 22nd of this year.
