The Barrow Group Presents World Premiere Of Lyle Kessler's PERP - 3/16/2019

The Barrow Group, under the leadership of Co-Artistic Directors Seth Barrish and Lee Brock and Executive Director Robert Serrell, closes its 2018-2019 season with the world premiere of Perp by Lyle Kessler. Under the direction of Ms. Brock, Perp is scheduled to run at The Barrow Group (312 West 36th St.) from March 16 through April 11, with an opening night of March 25.

Gingold Theatrical Group (David Staller, Artistic Director) has announced that its Golden Shamrock Gala 2019 will honor humanitarian and award-winning creator of Godspell, Pippin, and Wicked, Stephen Schwartz. Among some promised surprise guests performers will be Stephen Schwartz himself (!), along with Claybourne Elder, Melissa Errico, and Alison Fraser.

Bonnie Milligan Joins WICKED SINGS BIRDS OF PARADISE at 54 Below - 3/18/2019

Bonnie Milligan has joined the cast of Wicked Sings Birds of Paradise at Feinstein's/54 Below! One of Off-Broadway's most beloved cult musicals, Birds of Paradise, returns to New York City, with a star-studded Broadway cast, many from the hit musical Wicked. The show will be performed on Monday, March 18th, 2019 at 7pm & 9:30pm.

Fankhauser, Adkins, and More Join Contreras' Album Celebration - 3/18/2019

Ben Fankhauser (Newsies), Bradley Gibson (The Lion King), Natalie Weiss (Everyday Rapture) and Zach Adkins (Anastasia) will perform at a March 18 concert celebrating the new album, Joyride, by songwriter Joey Contreras at The Green Room 42. Favorites from his previous albums, Love Me, Love Me Not and Young Kind of Love will be included.

NETWORK Will Host Post-Show Talkback March 20 - 3/20/2019

Network will host a post-show talk back on Wednesday, March 20 following the 7pm performance in partnership with American Express. Participants include NETWORK stars Bryan Cranston (All The Way, "Breaking Bad"), Tony Goldwyn ("Scandal," Promises, Promises) and Tatiana Maslany ("Orphan Black," Mary Page Marlowe). New York Times culture reporter and author of Mad as Hell: The Making of 'Network' and the Fateful Vision of the Angriest Man in Movies Dave Itzkoff will moderate.

Jean-Claude van Itallie's THE FAT LADY SINGS Will Have World Premiere at La Mama, Starring Lauren Flanigan and Tony Torn - 3/21/2019

La MaMa presents the premiere of legendary playwright Jean-Claude van Itallie's The Fat Lady Sings at La MaMa's Downstairs Theater (66 East 4th Street). Directed by Drama Desk Award winner David Schweizer, the production is scheduled to begin previews on March 21, 2019, with an opening night on March 25, 2019 (running run through April 7, 2019). The cast will feature New York City Opera sensation, Lauren Flanigan, and actor, Tony Torn, known for his celebrated experimental theater work. They will be joined by Jake Horowitz, Nancy McArthur and Jose Useche.

THE LEHMAN TRILOGY Will Make its New York Premiere Next Year - 3/22/2019

According to The New York Times, The Lehman Trilogy, the play about the Lehman brothers, will arrive next year in New York. The show is currently running in the West End at the National Theatre through October 20.

Full Cast Announced For Ahrens & Flaherty's MARIE in Seattle - 3/22/2019

Broadway visionaries meet ballet royalty at The 5th Avenue Theatre this spring in Marie: A New Musical. Tony Award-winning authors Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Ragtime, Once On This Island), five-time Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Susan Stroman (The Producers, Contact), and acclaimed New York City Ballet principal dancer Tiler Peck invite you backstage into 19th-century Paris, where glittering opulence hobnobbed with underworld dangers. Marie was formerly titled Little Dancer in a previous production that played at The Kennedy Center in 2015. 

THE LEHMAN TRILOGY Will Make North American Premiere At Park Avenue Armory - 3/22/2019

In March 2019, Park Avenue Armory – in collaboration with the National Theatre and Neal Street Productions – will present the North American premiere of The Lehman Trilogy. Told in three parts in a single evening, the production will unfold in the soaring 55,000-square-foot Wade Thompson Drill Hall from March 22 through April 20, 2019 in a strictly limited engagement. Directed by Sam Mendes, The Lehman Trilogy weaves through nearly two centuries of Lehman lineage, following the brothers Henry, Emanuel, and Mayer Lehman from their 1844 arrival in New York City to the 2008 collapse of the financial firm bearing their name. Adam Godley, Ben Miles, and Simon Russell Beale play the Lehman brothers, and a cast of characters including their sons and grandsons. As the inaugural production of the 2019 season, The Lehman Trilogy builds on the Armory's history of presenting bold and engaging theater productions that explore the unexpected possibilities of the cross-genre cultural institution.

Idina Menzel Will Headline TUTS 50th Anniversary Season Gala - 3/23/2019

Tony Award -winning icon of stage and screen, Idina Menzel, will headline Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) 50th Anniversary Season Gala at The Post Oak Hotel on Saturday, March 23 at 6:30pm.
