GYPSY9 - Jerry Lewis accomplished a lot on his 50 years of Labor Day Muscular Dystrophy telethons. A huge amount of money was raised over those many years for important research and activist programs. Nevertheless, Lewis is not a nice person. His sarcasm and intimidating behavior was prevalent on the telethons. This behavior was not confined to the TV telethons. Decades ago when a new production of HELLZAPOPPIN was pre-Broadway bound he bad mouthed co-star Lynn Redgrave to the press and actually said that the only thing that Redgrave was good for was to provide a leg to piss on. I am not sorry to see Lewis go.
