MEMPHIS National Tour Begins In Memphis - 10/1/2011

The producers of the hit Broadway musical MEMPHIS announced today that the critically acclaimed production will launch a U. S. national tour in Memphis, TN. Performances will begin in October, 2011 at the Orpheum Theatre (203 South Main Street). Additional cities, dates and casting will be announced at a later date.

Producers of the five-time Tony Award nominated hit musical, ROCK OF AGES announced today that Jeremy Woodard will officially take over the role of "Stacee Jaxx" on Monday, October 3, 2011. Woodard has understudied the role since performances began on Broadway on Tuesday, March 17, 2009. In addition to ROCK OF AGES, Woodard's theatre credits include Glory Days, Hairspray, and Miss Saigon. MiG Ayesa, who has performed the role of "Stacee Jaxx" since ROCK OF AGES moved to the Helen Hayes Theatre on March 24, 2011, will play his final performance on Sunday, September 25. During the interim week, the role will be covered by an understudy.

Andrew Rannells to Host Ars Nova's Fall Benefit - 10/3/2011

Ars Nova (Jason Eagan, Artistic Director; Jeremy Blocker, Managing Director) proudly announces Fall Into the Nova, a benefit to support emerging artists. The concert features the music of emerging composers Justin Levine (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Shaina Taub (The Daughters), and Daniel Zaitchik (Picnic at Hanging Rock), and will be hosted by The Book of Mormon's Andrew Rannells. The music will be performed by a host of Broadway and Off-Broadway stars, including Jeannette Bayardelle, Matt Doyle, Demon Green, Grace McLean, Kathy Voytko, Teal Wicks and Betsy Wolfe. The concert will take place in the Ars Nova theater on Monday, October 3 at 7:00pm. Proceeds from the evening will help support Ars Nova?s extensive artistic development initiatives and programming. The ensemble includes Kimberly Burns, Ben Hart, Geoffrey Kidwell, Jeff Leatherwood, ShaRon Taylor, and Hernando Umana. Book and lyrics for Peter & I were written by Matte O'Brien who will also direct the show. Music was composed by Matt Vinson. O'Brien's most recent work includes the Whoopi Goldberg producEd White Noise at the Royal George in Chicago and the Le Petite Theatre in New Orleans. Amanda Morton (16 Days) is the Musical Director for the piece.
