Rylance Brings JERUSALEM to Bway - 4/2/2011

Tony and Olivier Award winning star Mark Rylance (La Bête, Boeing-Boeing) will recreate his wildly acclaimed, multi award-winning performance as Johnny ‘Rooster' Byron on Broadway in The Royal Court Theatre production of Jez Butterworth's universally heralded new play, JERUSALEM. The production, directed by Ian Rickson, will also star Mackenzie Crook (The Seagull, "The Office") as Ginger and most of the original Royal Court cast, with full casting to be announced at a later date. JERUSALEM will open on Broadway on April 21, 2011 at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). Previews will begin on April 2, 2011. The production will play a limited 16-week engagement.


INFINITY SOCK Premieres at the DR2 Theatre Before National Tour - 4/2/2011

That little guy from the Sun is making plans to land off-Broadway with an all-new family show! The world premiere engagement of Gustafer Yellowgold's Infinity Sock will take place at the DR2 Theatre, 103 E. 15th St. NYC, with a run of Saturday performances extending from February 26 through April 2, prior to the show's national tour.


SINATRA Dance With Me Extends in Vegas - 4/2/2011

Wynn Las Vegas announced today that performances of the new hit show SINATRA Dance With Me will be extended through April 2 in response to overwhelming audience demand. Additionally, Wynn is now offering the SINATRA Dine and Dance With Me package, which includes classic Italian fare from acclaimed Chef Theo Schoenegger at Sinatra restaurant and a ticket to SINATRA Dance With Me for $145 per person (inclusive of tax and gratuity).

Three-time Tony Award-winning scenic designer Robin Wagner and esteemed costume designer Lewis Brown are among the 2011 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 8 at 6:30pm at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). MR. Brown was selected to receive the 2011 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design, and Tony Award-winning scenic designer Robin Wagner will receive the Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design. Sadly, MR. Brown passed away in January of 2011. His award will be accepted by his long-time colleague and friend, Albert Wolsky, who was the recipient of the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award

DAISY Extends with Redgrave, Jones, Gaines - 4/9/2011

With the playwright at their side on stage at the Golden Theatre, producers Jed Bernstein and Adam Zotovich announced today that Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Driving Miss Daisy, will extend its Broadway premiere engagement through April 9, 2011, making it the only play this season that will be running into the spring. The play's three acclaimed stars, Tony Award-winners James Earl Jones, Vanessa Redgrave and Boyd Gaines, will all remain with the production. Directed by David Esbjornson, Driving Miss Daisy opened on Broadway at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street) on October 25, 2010, where it has since broken all house records. The production was previously scheduled to run through January 29, 2011.
