MICHELE Watches Celebrates The Akola Project Founder And President With 'My MICHELE Moment'
In Honor of her work as founder and president of the Akola Project, MICHELE watches celebrated Brittany Merrill Underwood as the next "My MICHELE Moment" recipient. Following a trip to Uganda in 2004, Brittany founded the Akola Project, a non-profit and social business offering jewelry and accessories handmade by women in order to uplift their families out of poverty. The Akola Project empowers and transforms the lives of women in Uganda through vocational skills training, education programs, dependable employment, support groups and leadership development, helping them to create long-term sustainability in their communities.
The vision of the organization is to create a global accessories brand that is made by and fully benefits marginalized women, and 100% of sales revenues are returned to the women and Akola project initiatives. Learn more at akolaproject.org.
