Tony Nominee Ms. Brenda Braxton originated the role of ClariTy Jones in Donna Moore's surprise Off-Broadway hit Cougar the Musical and will reprise her role now that her successful tour of Thoroughly Modern Millie has come to an end. Now in its ninth month, Cougar the Musical, continues to offer new blocks of tickets for the summer, now through July 27, 2013.


THE ACCIDENTAL PERVERT Closes 7/27 - 7/27/2013

"The Accidental Pervert" - the hilarious autobiographical no holds barred play about one man's obsessive love of pornography which recently received its second international production in Panama City, Panama, has extended its Off-Broadway run for a sixth time, now through July 27, 2013 at the Thirteenth Street Repertory Theatre (50 West 13th Street, btw 5th and 6th Avenues) it has been announced by the plays' author Andrew Goffman.

Mint Theater's A PICTURE OF AUTUMN Closes 7/27 - 7/27/2013

Mint Theater (Jonathan Bank, Artistic Director) today announced a two week extension for for the American Premiere of A Picture of Autumn by N.C. Hunter, directed by Gus Kaikkonen. The Mint production will now run until July 27th at its home (311 West 43rd Street).


Elks Theatre to Present 35mm Screening of THE SHINING, 7/27 - 7/27/2013

The Elks Theatre presents a rare 35mm screening of Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece of modern horror-The Shining. This feature, part of the Elks Theatre's Cult Corner Series, will be shown at 9 p.m., Saturday, July 27. There will be a prize giveaway just before the start of the feature.

Shields to Direct CHICAGO at Hollywood Bowl; Runs 7/26-28 - 7/28/2013

Brooke Shields has been announced as the director of the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of CHICAGO, which holds the record as the third longest running show in Broadway history. Rob Fisher has also been announced as the conductor of the production. Shields starred in CHICAGO both on Broadway and in London's West End and this marks her directing debut. Fisher's association with the show began with the 1996 Broadway revival and he continues to be supervising music director of CHICAGo Productions around the globe.


VANYA AND SONYA AND MASHA AND SPIKE Extends Through July 28 - 7/28/2013

Producers Joey Parnes and Larry Hirschhorn announced today that Christopher Durang's new comedy, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, will extend its premiere Broadway engagement at the Golden Theatre by four weeks due to popular demand.


HERE LIES LOVE Closes at the Public July 28 - 7/28/2013

Due to overwhelming demand, The Public Theater announced a final four-week extension for the critically acclaimed world premiere musical Here Lies Love, with concept and lyrics by David Byrne, music by David Byrneand Fatboy Slim, additional music by Tom Gandey and J Pardo, and choreography by Annie-B Parson. Directed by Alex Timbers, Here Lies Love officially opened on Tuesday, April 23 and has been extended a fourth and final time to Sunday, July 28.

This August, the surprise hit of the season, Donna Moore's Cougar The Musical, will celebrate its one year anniversary Off-Broadway. Directed and choreographed by Tony Nominated Lynne Taylor Corbett, Cougar The Musical, began performances on August 10 and opened on August 26, 2012. To celebrate this amazing milestone, Cougar The Musical will celebrate with an additional block of tickets available now through September 29, and the celebration will kick-off with cake and cocktails - Cougar style on Friday, August 2, 2013.


The Public Screens Three Shawn & Gregory Films - 8/3/2013

The Public Theater and Theatre for a New Audience will present three special screenings of Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory's most beloved films, Andre Gregory: Before and After Dinner, Vanya on 42nd Street, and My Dinner With Andre, at Joe's Pub at The Public in August. These three screenings are presented as part of the current retrospective, The Wallace Shawn-Andre Gregory Project, celebrating the 40-year collaboration between these two artists.

A SALUTE TO VIENNA is one of the most lavish song and dance gala concert specials ever produced for public television featuring the superstars of Viennese operetta. The visually spectacular special is hosted by world-famous mezzo soprano Frederica von Stade and Academy Award-winning actor andVienna native Maximilian Schell. Special guests include The Vienna Boys' Choir; Russell Watson, Great Britain's largest-selling, classical-crossover tenor; dancers from the Association of the Vienna State Opera Ballet; the Symphony Orchestra of the Volksoper Vienna under the direction ofinternationally-knownStrauss Conductor Peter Guth; an international cast of top singing stars including sopranos Daniela Fally, Iva Milhanovic and Alexandra Reinprecht; tenors Dmitry Korchak and Tilmann Unger; baritone, Daniel Serafin, as well as many leading stars from the acclaimed Budapest Operetta Theater.
