TONY MASON

BIO:
Among an overwhelming field of percussionists exists well-versed drummer Tony Mason. Initially self-taught by his passion, Mason enlisted in formal education to fine-tune his inherent skill. Bit by the groove bug at an early age, Mason turned to drums and never turned back. The Birmingham, Ala. native followed the beat north for his first touring gig with a rock cover band. Two years and a band name change later, Mason left to pursue an engagement that would do more to stimulate his creative juices. Mason landed with the regionally successful Pull, lending his sticks to their fan-favorite self-titled EP that caused a stir throughout the Midwest. When founding members of Pull pulled out to pursue other career interests, Mason and guitar player Terry Sharp knew their rhythm section could continue. The dissolution of Pull soon landed Mason and Sharp with touring rock heroes Splendid Chaos. Mason and Splendid Chaos toured nationally coast-to-coast and everywhere between. Performing upwards to 250 shows per year to well-sized crowds, Splendid Chaos found success with MTV programming and features with Fox Sports, Outdoor Life Network, and Fusion TV. Accolades also include the Big Spring Jam Radio Festival in Huntsville, Ala., performances at The Swamp in Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and dynamic shows at Spring Break hotspot, Panama City Beach’s Club La Vela. Fusion TV notes Splendid Chaos as a necessity to spring breakers, “Splendid Chaos is a staple of the Spring Break nightlife in Panama City Beach - unlike the usual confused mixture that epitomizes any Spring Break beach destination, this four-piece band is the single focus in a disorderly mass.” Splendid Chaos also garnered a three-year opening slot on the Jagermeister Music Tour, which have included renowned rockers, The Cult along with Staind, Alter Bridge and Three Days Grace and were also featured on the 2007 Jager Music compilation CD. Mason continues to perform with Splendid Chaos, opening for popular rock acts Chevelle and Saliva and recently joined country music powerhouse Eric Lee Beddingfield. Named the 2007 Breakout Artist by Music Row and New Country Weekly’s Top 10 New Artists of 2008, Beddingfield has enjoyed chart and touring success. Additionally, Beddingfield is produced by one of Nashville’s top producers Kent Wells, and recently released an album featuring a Dolly Parton and Rickey Medlocke (Lynyrd Skynyrd) cameo. Tony Mason is currently endorsed by the following companies: Trick Drums, Silverfox Drumsticks, Attack Drumheads, Headfirst Custom Bass Drum Heads, May Internal Miking Systems, and Drum Star Wear. Tony currently resides in Nashville, TN.
