According to the Christian Science Monitor, GLEE fans might not have to wait until the show returns in January 2015 to see star Lea Michele on a Ryan Murphy TV show. It is being rumored that Michele has recently joined the cast the fourth season of Murphy's AMERICAN HORROR STORY series. The new season, entitled FREAK SHOW, follows a group of carnival freaks in Florida in the 1950's. (more...)

This is easily the most excited I have been for an episode of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE all season. Even though I picked three of the four finalists as major contenders when the Top-20 was announced (and five of the final six, thank you you very much), this is definitely not the Final Four (Zack Everhart, Jessica Richens, Valerie Rockey and Ricky Ubeda) that I thought we would have just a few weeks ago. That being said, each has managed to have a breathtaking moment or four, however, with the exception of Ricky, each has also had their share of missteps as well. (more...)

Full casting has been announced for Bernard Pomerance's Tony Award-winning play THE ELEPHANT MAN starring two-time Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper, Academy Award nominee Patricia Clarkson and Alessandro Nivola, directed by Tony Award nominee Scott Ellis. The production begins performances on Friday, November 7, 2014 and opens on Sunday, December 7, 2014 at Broadway's Booth Theatre (222 West 45th Street, NYC). It was announced today that Tony Award-winner Carole Shelley will join the cast of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, which won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical. Batman announced today that child actor Noah Marlowe (Mary Poppins, Act One) will play "Young Harvey Milk" in the New York premiere of Tony and Grammy Award nominee Andrew Lippa's new oratorio, I Am Harvey Milk, set for Monday, October 6 at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. Mr. Marlowe originated the role in I Am Harvey Milk's world premiere performance in San Francisco and can be heard on the Original Cast Recording. (more...)

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Diane Paulus, Artistic Director and William Russo, Managing Director announced today that its world premiere production of the musical Finding Neverland, with book by James Graham, music and lyrics by Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy, directed by Diane Paulus with choreography by Mia Michaels, has reached the highest attendance record for a single production at the A.R.T. The production began previews at the Loeb Drama Center on Wednesday, July 23 and is running through Sunday, September 28, for a total of 75 performances. (more...)

MCC THEATER has announced the 2014 PlayLabs reading series, which will feature new works in development by playwrights Stephen Belber, John Pollono, and Will Snider. "Friends" alum David Schwimmer, currently represented off-Broadway with his direction of the critically-acclaimed hit Sex with Strangers, is set to direct Belber's Shut Up When You Talk to Me. Pollono's Lost Girls will be directed by MCC alum Jo Bonney, who also directed MCC's hit production of Pollono's Small Engine Repair. Snider's How to Use a Knife will be helmed by Kareem Fahmy. Readings will be held on September 15th, September 29th, and October 6th, respectively, at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street). All readings are at 7pm.
