This season, Broadway welcomes a star-studded revival of Henrik Ibsen's An Enemy of the People starring Emmy Award-winners Jeremy Strong and Michael Imperioli, and Victoria Pedretti. Behind the production is powerhouse pair, Tony Award-winning director Sam Gold and acclaimed, award-winning playwright Amy Herzog, a real-life married couple who are making their debut as collaborators on the production. Sam Gold has been nominated for several awards throughout his career, including Best Direction of a Play at the Tony Awards for "A Doll's House, Part 2," Outstanding Director of a Play at the Drama Desk Awards for "John," Best Direction of a Musical at the BroadwayWorld Awards for "Fun Home," Best Direction of a Musical at the Tony Awards for "Fun Home," Outstanding Director of a Musical at the Drama Desk Awards, Outer Critics Circle Awards, and The Lortels for "Fun Home." He also received nominations for Outstanding Director of a Play at the Drama Desk Awards for "Uncle Vanya," Outstanding Director at The Lortels for "The Flick," "The Big Meal," and "Look Back in Anger," as well as Directing at the Obie Awards for "Circle Mirror Transformation" and "The Aliens."
