Much Ado About Nothing in Broadway MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING
Anoka Ramsey Community College
4/13-4/21/2018
Much Ado About Nothing - In this Shakespearean farce, Hero and her groom-to-be, Claudio, team up with Claudio's commanding officer, Don Pedro, the week before their wedding to hatch a matchmaking scheme. Their targets are sharp-witted duo Benedick and Beatrice -- a tough task indeed, considering their corresponding distaste for love and each other. Meanwhile, meddling Don John plots to ruin the wedding and the foolish constable Dogberry and his watchmen muddle the situation even more! • The tickets are general admission and reservations do guarantee you a seat, however, you will need to pick your specific seats when you arrive on a first-come-first-serve basis. The house opens at 7:00 PM and we encourage you to arrive early especially if you are in a group. Performances begin promptly at 7:30 PM.

My Barking Dog in Broadway MY BARKING DOG
Market Garden Theatre
4/20-4/29/2018
Cerebral, witty, and ultimately nearing the absurd, My Barking Dog by Eric Coble asks where we go when we let our instincts take over. The story focuses on two solitary city-dwellers, Melinda and Toby who are brought together by the appearance of a coyote. This wild encounter leads them on a poetic journey of self-realization, with their newly discovered animal instincts leading the way. My Barking Dog is a blend of magical realism and lyrical storytelling that explores how our everyday lives have been disconnected from our roots. Directed by Market Garden Theatre's Artistic Director Lucas Skjaret, My Barking Dog plays April 20 - 29 at the studio space of the Crane Theater in NE Minneapolis.

Argonautika in Broadway ARGONAUTIKA
University of Minnesota Theatre Arts & Dance at the Guthrie Theater
4/20-4/29/2018
As in her Tony Award-winning Metamorphoses, Mary Zimmerman transforms Greek mythology – here the story of Jason and the Argonauts – into a mesmerizing piece of theater, performed by the senior class of The University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Actor Training Program. Encountering an array of daunting challenges in their "first voyage of the world," Jason and his crew illustrate the essence of all such journeys to follow--their un-predictability, their inspiring and overwhelming breadth of emotion, their lessons in the inevitability of failure and loss. Bursts of humor and fantastical creatures enrich a story whose characters reveal remarkable complexity. Medea is profoundly sympathetic even as the seeds are sown for the monstrous life ahead of her, and the brute strength of Hercules leaves him no less vulnerable to the vicissitudes of love. Zimmerman brings to Argonautika her trademark ability to encompass the full range of human experience in a work as entertaining as it is enlightening. ABOUT THE B.F.A. ACTOR TRAINING PROGRAM The University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater B.F.A. Actor Training Program is rooted in four guiding principles: an expansive liberal arts education, an intensive studio training curriculum, an eclectic performing arts experience, and a dynamic partnership between the University of Minnesota and the Guthrie. Adapted from The Voyage of Jason and the Argonauts World premiere by the Lookingglass Theatre Company, Chicago Directed by Joel Sass   All tickets $9 visit z.umn.edu/Argonautika to purchase.
