Wildhorn's WONDERLAND Announces Full Tampa Casting - 12/5/2009

The Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center is delighted to announce that casting is now complete for Wonderland: Alice's New Musical Adventure. Slated to have its world premiere in Tampa on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009 in TBPAC's Ferguson Hall, with Gregory Boyd, artistic director of Houston's Alley Theatre, directing. The music for Wonderland is from composer Frank Wildhorn (The Civil War and Jekyll & Hyde) with lyrics by Jack Murphy (The Civil War and Jekyll & Hyde) and a book by Murphy and Boyd. Wonderland is the first initiative of the Broadway Genesis Project at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. Broadway Genesis is intended to help create new works of American theater to play the Tampa market, and then possibly tour other performing arts centers or move to Broadway.


MANSON: THE MUSICAL Makes NYC Premiere At The Kraine Theater - 12/5/2009

Just in time for the 40th anniversary of the Tate-LaBianca murders, EndTimes Productions present the long-awaited New York Premiere of MANSON: THE MUSICAL! A long-running 1990's cult hit in Chicago, this dark musical comedy about Charles Manson features music, book and lyrics developed through improv by the members of Annoyance Theater (including The Office's Kate Flannery).


THE LATE CHRISTOPHER BEAN Plays The Beckett Theatre - 12/5/2009

TACT/The Actors Company Theatre (Scott Alan Evans, Cynthia Harris and Simon Jones, Co-Artistic Directors), the critically-acclaimed company "dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit," will open its 17th Anniversary season with The Late Christopher Bean, a sly 1930's comedy by Pulitzer Prize-winner Sidney Howard based upon "Prenez Garde a la Peinture," by Rene Fauchois.


Broadway Classroom Workshop To Feature SHREK THE MUSICAL - 12/5/2009

Broadway Classroom will present its next workshop in the new "Putting it All Together" series on Saturday, December 5, 2009. Broadway and small screen star Kristen Chenoweth will star in the upcoming Lifetime movie 12 Men of Christmas, based on the popular novel Decent Exposure by Phillipa Ashley. In this romantic comedy, a down-on-her-luck public relations executive uses her media savvy to generate some excitement in a small Montana town. The movie airs on Lifetime on Saturday, December 5.


Neil Patrick Harris Competes in CBS Holiday 'Deer Valley Celebrity SkiFest' - 12/5/2009

Beginning tomorrow, December 5, The Celebrity SkiFest is returning to Deer Valley Resort, as the resort kicks off the winter season with the invitational event on December 5 and 6. For the event, olympic ski legends will be paired with television and film celebrities as they compete in giant slalom races on Birdseye run. The SkiFest is free to spectators, and the public can watch the races take place on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m.

Artivist Awards Honors Hank Azaria - 12/5/2009

Stage and screen favorite Hank Azaria, will be honored with an Artivist Award along with fellow thespian Olivia Wilde (House) and producer Stephen Nemeth. The Artivist Awards are presented at the Artivist Film Festival, which, now it its 6th year, has screened 45 independent, narratives, documentaries, shorts, and experimental films from around the world. The awards recognize activist efforts of filmmakers, specifically in the areas of human rights, child advocacy, environmental preservation, and animal rights. Artivist Awards will take place at a ceremony on December 5 at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.

NBC Universal has announced that 9 To 5 composer Dolly Parton will take part Carrie Underwood's star-studded holiday, tentatively entitled "Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Special," airing on FOX at 8PM EST on December 7. Adam Shankman, director the film version of Hairspray, is co-executive producing and directing the special.


Bellamy, White, Curtin and More Join Johnston and Chlumsky in SO HELP ME GOD! - 12/7/2009

As previously reported, My Girl's Anna Chlumsky and Kristen Johnston are set to headline the Mint Theater Company's SO HELP ME GOD! The Off-Broadway run, which will begin previews November 18th, opens officially at the Lucile Lortel Theatre Dec. 7 and runs through Dec. 20.
