The next time you make a grocery run, don't forget these three items that should be staples in your diet:

1. Balsamic vinegar (it adds a pop of flavor without adding calories - great for salad dressings);

2. In-shell whole nuts (for protein, fiber, and good fat. The shells will slow you down from mindless eating); and

3. Greek yogurt (offers a sense of 'comfort food' and protein without the high calories in sour cream, ice cream, or various dips)
