BIO
Jason Alexander, is an American actor and comedian whose career spans television, film, and the stage. He is best known for his portrayal of George Costanza on the NBC sitcom Seinfeld, a role that brought him widespread recognition and earned a Screen Actors Guild Award along with multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. Over the course of his career, Alexander has received both an Emmy Award and a Tony Award, reflecting his work across mediums.
Alexander made his Broadway debut in 1981, originating the role of Joe in Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along. He continued working steadily in the theater throughout the 1980s, appearing in productions such as The Rink, Neil Simon’s Broadway Bound, and Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, the latter earning him the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. His stage work has remained an important part of his career, including performances in The Producers on tour and Fish in the Dark on Broadway, as well as directing projects such as the 2023 Broadway production of The Cottage.
In film, Alexander has appeared in a wide range of roles, including performances in Pretty Woman, Jacob’s Ladder, Coneheads, The Paper, Dunston Checks In, Shallow Hal, and Hachi: A Dog’s Tale. He has also had a notable career as a voice actor, lending his voice to Hugo in Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame and starring in the animated series Duckman. On television beyond Seinfeld, he earned an Emmy nomination for his guest performance on Dream On and served as the narrator for the documentary Sideshow: Alive on the Inside.
