JJ Niemann is an NYC-based Broadway actor and content creator. After growing up in NC, JJ graduated in 2017 with a BFA in Music Theatre from Elon University. Shortly after, he joined the Broadway cast of “The Book of Mormon” as a Swing, where he performed for three years (and recently returned to the production for several months as a vacation swing). During his time in “Mormon,” JJ also was a part of the developmental workshops of the new musical “BLISS.” In February 2020 he performed in the “BLISS” World Premiere at The 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle, and is currently working with them developing the show to come to NYC. During the pandemic, he became an avid TikTok and Instagram creator, reaching over 1 million followers and 300 million video views across both platforms with his theatre comedy videos. JJ performed in the TikTok musical "Ratatouille" (Drama League Nomination) and the recent live-streamed "for you, Paige," commissioned by TikTok. He’s performed all over the country at regional theatres including The Rev, The Muny, Pittsburgh CLO, Bay Street Theatre, Artpark, Grandstreet Theatre; he’ll also be performing upcoming this year at Cape Playhouse and Flat Rock Playhouse. In addition to performing, JJ teaches workshops around the country and his own dance classes in the city called Jazzing With JJ, and coaches regularly with The Broadway Collective’s virtual programs. Audiences can expect to see this, among other songs, in JJ Niemann's portrayal of Charles in Hide and Seek this April at Feinstein's/54 Below. The concert is sold out, but audiences are able to live stream the one night only event from home.
