BIO
JJ Niemann is a North Carolina-bred, New York City-based Broadway actor and content creator. After graduating from Elon University with a BFA in Music Theatre, he moved to NYC and days later began rehearsals to make his Broadway debut in The Book of Mormon. After a few years as a *Mormon* (and a pandemic later...) JJ opened in the Original Broadway Cast of Back to the Future, in the ensemble and as the cover for Marty McFly & George McFly (roles which he performed at over 80 performances). After closing Back to the Future in January, JJ joined the cast of Hamilton on Broadway as Charles Lee in February 2025 and performed at the Richard Rodgers Theatre thru August. In the fall of 2025, JJ starred as Frank Abagnale Jr. in Catch Me If You Can at Marriott Theatre in the Chicagoland area, and coming up he will be making his Off-Broadway debut joining 11 to Midnight at the Orpheum Theatre.
Some of JJ's other select acting credits include the World Premiere of Disney's Hercules at Paper Mill Playhouse; the pre-Broadway workshop of SMASH; the World Premiere of BLISS at The 5th Avenue Theatre; productions at The MUNY, Flat Rock Playhouse, Cape Playhouse, The Rev, and Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera; and of course the iconic Ratatouille TikTok musical (iykyk).
JJ has been lovingly dubbed as the “King of Theatre TikTok” by the internet and publications such as BroadwayWorld, Backstage, and Theatrely. He creates relatable skits and backstage content for performers, theatre kids, and fellow New York City-lovers. As of 2026, JJ has reached over 2.1 million followers and 1 billion video views across TikTok, Instagram, & YouTube!
