Corey Hawkins

Corey Hawkins began his professional acting career performing Off-Broadway and making guest television appearances. His early screen credits include the short film Digital Antiquities (2011), Allegiance (2012), Iron Man 3 (2013), and Non-Stop (2014).

Hawkins made his Broadway debut as Tybalt in the 2013 revival of Romeo and Juliet. He gained wider recognition portraying Dr. Dre in Straight Outta Compton (2015). That same year, he joined the cast of AMC's The Walking Dead, playing Heath from 2015 to 2016.

In 2017, Hawkins starred as Eric Carter in the Fox series 24: Legacy, appeared in Kong: Skull Island, and returned to Broadway in Six Degrees of Separation, earning a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Play. He later starred as Lincoln in the Broadway revival of Topdog/Underdog (2022–2023), receiving a second Tony Award nomination.

Hawkins' additional film credits include BlacKkKlansman (2018), Georgetown (2019), 6 Underground (2019), In the Heights (2021), The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021), The Last Voyage of the Demeter (2023), The Color Purple (2023), The Piano Lesson (2024), The Man in My Basement (2025), Crime 101 (2026), and Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey (2026). He is also attached to the upcoming film Nightwatching.

His television credits include Royal Pains (2011), Golden Boy (2013), The Walking Dead (2015–2016), 24: Legacy (2017), Survive (2020), and Poker Face (2025).

On stage, Hawkins appeared in Hurt Village (2011) at Signature Theatre Company, Suicide Inc. (2011) at Roundabout Theatre Company, Romeo and Juliet (2013), Six Degrees of Separation (2017), and Topdog/Underdog (2022–2023).

Throughout his career, Hawkins has received ensemble honors for Straight Outta Compton (2015), The Color Purple (2023), and The Piano Lesson (2024). He earned Tony Award nominations for Six Degrees of Separation (2017) and Topdog/Underdog (2023), as well as a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for Survive (2020).
