Review: THE AVETT BROTHERS at MAD Amphitheater in El Dorado
by Theresa Bertram - Sep 8, 2025
For my first time at the Murphy Arts District Amp in El Dorado, I didn’t really know what to expect, but I was certainly surprised when I saw the Avett Brothers on August 23rd. I enjoyed a leisurely walk up to the metal detectors, took a considerable amount of time emptying my pockets to go through them, and hilariously realized that I needed to go get my ticket from the box office, which was around the corner.

Review: THE BOOMER HILL BAND at MAD House 101 Restaurant & Bar
by Theresa Bertram - Aug 20, 2025
This summer, I’ve attended several performances at the Murphy Arts District in El Dorado, and all have been exceptional in performance and public response. After a certain amount of time being in the event space, you learn how to seek out the quainter moments, the ones which really tell you something about the audience, the performer, the human experience.

Review: TREY JOHNSON at MAD House 101 Restaurant & Bar
by Theresa Bertram - Aug 5, 2025
Upon being asked what kind of music he performs, Trey Johnson said something to the effect of, “That’s the question, isn’t it?” And, of course, it certainly is.

Review: BOOSIE at First Financial Music Hall
by Theresa Bertram - Jul 2, 2025
It was the night of June 20th, 2025, and I had not anticipated what I was walking into. At the First Financial Music Hall of El Dorado, I experienced my first ever Juneteenth celebration with BOOSIE, and I assure you: I will be back for more. The crowd was loud, the drinks were flowing, and the night was over before I knew it.
