Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater have announced programming running March 11th - March 24th. Performers appearing at Birdland Jazz Club include Maria Schneider Orchestra, Emilio Solla & La Inestable de Brooklyn, Christian Sands Trio, and Canadian Jazz Collective.

“Thieves,” follows last month's release of “Coming Home Song,” and together they mark the first two releases of new recorded music since she burst onto the scene with her two EPs The Good Life (2018) and Let's Throw a Party (2021). Since those early releases Sammy Rae & Friends has become a juggernaut.

It marks the band's first new studio album in 12 years, first-ever blues album and the first one to feature linchpin conga player Sam Clayton on lead vocals on every song. This joyously blues-soaked party gets started now with the album's first single/video “You'll Be Mine,” a cover of the Willie Dixon-written chestnut.

Recorded at Asheville's Echo Mountain, the album was co-produced by Dave Wilson and Nashville-based Rachael Moore (Kacey Musgraves, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss), whom the band befriended during a stint serving as the backing band on the Showtime series George & Tammy, shot in Wilmington, NC.

Lauren Daigle's “Kaleidoscope Beach Weekend” joins Topeka's ever-growing lineup of curated experiences in 2024, including The Avett Brothers' Moon Crush “Avett Moon” Music Vacation featuring performances by Greensky Bluegrass, Band of Horses, Shakey Graves, Grace Potter and more.

An addendum to its widely-celebrated 2022 EP, Mountain Air, the fast-rising string band is poised to reach the masses with the unveiling of its first full-length collection, which has seen praise from the likes of Rolling Stone France, No Depression, AmericanaUK, and more. The group will commemorate the highly-anticipated release with a show.

Topeka, known for creating the innovative and much-lauded, no line boutique Music Vacation experience, confirms a brand-new weekend debuting on the shores of Miramar Beach, Florida this fall—The Avett Brothers' “Moon Crush – Avett Moon” is set for November 8-10, 2024.

Raleigh, NC-based Chatham County Line share the third single, “Way Down Yonder,” from their highly anticipated tenth studio album, Hiyo. The track features guest appearances, including vocalist Maya de Vitry, fiddler John Mailander (Bruce Hornsby, Billy Strings) and drummer Jamie Dick (Watchhouse, Rhiannon Giddens).

HOLLER CHOIR releases new single 'DARLENE' from their upcoming debut album. Featuring the lyrical prowess of Clint Roberts and bolstered by the talents of Johnson City's Helena Rose on harmony vocals and dulcet clawhammer banjo, Holler Choir creates original music steeped in the mystical sensibilities of old-time Appalachia.

On Wednesday evening, The Avett Brothers (Scott Avett, Seth Avett, and Bob Crawford) celebrated the opening of their new musical, Swept Away, running at Arena Stage’s Kreeger Theater at the Mead Center for American Theater in Washington, D.C. through January 14 after a thrice-extended run at Berkeley Repertory Theatre in early 2022.
