Broadway Dreams will present its annual NYC Showcase on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 5 and 7:30 PM at RWS Studios. The showcase represents the top 5% of the organization’s students and affords them the unique opportunity to perform for every major Broadway casting agency and other top entertainment industry decision makers. 

The World Choreography Awards will be held on November 15, 2022 at the Avalon Hollywood. Being its twelfth year in existence, I spoke with Allen Walls, Creator and Producer of the World Choreography Awards to catch up with this now seasoned Presentation and how it has been evolving through the years. I have reviewed the event in the past and it is a unique evening whose purpose is to present, celebrate and honor the best Choreographed Dance pieces or segments for the year in a now myriad of categories. It has also built upon it's live presentation and quality of live performances, special guests and hosting of the highest caliber.

Spinning the Bottle, a new play by James Hindman will receive a private industry reading in New York City on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at 5 PM. Presented by Michael Borges and Scott Rehl, in association with CinèTheatrix, and directed by Alan Souza, the reading will feature Dana Brooke, Biko Eisen-Martin, Darius Rose, and Robbie Simpson.

Especially thanks to Spencer Liff’s inventive staging and punchy choreography, the show is either a riotous musical bursting out of the seams of the intimate Bourbon Room or a drag revue elevated with a solid narrative, pristinely-timed punchlines, and innovative novelty routines.

Bobby really liked this one for more than just its gayness. It comes across as a fun, funny musical theatre hopeful and we do hope its hopes are realized, as we would totally buy that ticket.

Alaska ThunderF 5000's DRAG: The Musical returns to Los Angeles at The Bourbon Room beginning September 23, 2022. Spencer Liff choreographs and directs the cast of Alaska with JuJubee, Jackie Cox, Jan Sport, Joey McIntrye, Nick Adams, Lagoona Bloo, Aria B. Cassadine and Alysha Deslorieux. Alaska managed to find some time for my queries in between promoting her book My Name’s Yours, What’s Alaska? just released last year, and getting ready for her promotional tour for her latest album Red 4 Filth.

The worlds of drag and Broadway are about to collide in a major way with Drag: The Musical- a full-length, herstory-making show from the minds of songwriters Tomas Costanza, Ashley Gordon, and drag superstar Alaska ThunderF. Today, the studio cast recording was released in advance of several forthcoming live event workshops this June at The Bourbon Room in Los Angeles.

Producer Christine Russell (Head Over Heels, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) will present a private staged industry reading of the new musical TINSELTOWN TIPTOE on Friday, May 20th in Los Angeles.

A touch of “Kinky Boots” with a dash of “La Cage aux Folles” and a sprinkle of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” the original album “DRAG: The Musical (The Studio Recording)” features Alaska, Nick Adams, Michelle Visage, Max von Essen, Bob The Drag Queen, Peppermint, Fortune Feimster, Margaret Cho, Ginger Minj, and more.

The Broadway Body Positivity Project partnered with the Upper East Side Athleta in their Speaker Series that addressed diversity and inclusivity on the Broadway Stage. The event featured stories of resilience from Stephanie Lexis, founder of BBPP, Dr. Joy Cox from Jabbieapp and MiMi Scardulla of the Broadway Dance Center.
