Severely depressed, she hanged herself in the toilets of King’s College Hospital on the 20th of February, 1999. Tragically, it wasn’t a surprise. She wrote and talked about suicide very matter-of-factly. Kane authored, in total, five plays and a short film, all of equal, tragic precision in their emotional quality. It’s astonishing how much beauty came from someone who suffered so intensely.

He received the Outstanding Sound Design of a Play award from the Drama Desk Awards for Stranger Things: The First Shadow, as well as Outstanding Sound Design from the Outer Critics Circle Awards for the same production. Additionally, he won the Best Sound Design of a Play at the Tony Awards for Stranger Things: The First Shadow. Arditti was honored with Outstanding Sound Design for a Play from the Drama Desk Awards for The Inheritance and received Special Citations from the Obie Awards for The Jungle.
