Meet the hopeful, resilient residents of The Jungle - the short-lived, self-governing society that emerged within a sprawling refugee camp in Calais, France. Take a seat in an Afghan Cafe, where men, women and children fleeing war and persecution created a world offering warm hospitality amidst squalor and danger. After taking London by storm, The Jungle transforms St. Ann's Warehouse into this "devastating, uplifting show" (The Guardian) about "a story we need to hear" (Time Out London).

Harold Pinter's celebrated play, THE BIRTHDAY PARTY, appears at the Jungle Theater for the first time and features an all-star cast, including Richard Ooms and Claudia Wilkens as Petey and Meg Boles, and Stephen Cartmell as Stanley Webber, the lone lodger in the Boles' shabby English boarding house. One of the great black comedies of the 20th century, The Birthday Party will be on stage April 6-May 13 at the Lyn-Lake theater, 2951 Lyndale Av. S., in Minneapolis.

When the sad news came out this morning that famed Disney songwriter Robert B. Sherman died yesterday, March 5, in London, some of our first thoughts here at BroadwayWorld went out to Tony-winner Marc Shaiman. Shaiman had been a huge proponent of the incredible 'THE BOYS - The Sherman Brothers' Story' documentary and it was his enthusiasm that sent us off to see the fantastic film, and our lives were better off for it. We asked Marc to put together some of his thoughts on Robert Sherman and are proud to present them below.

Two-time Tony Award nominated costume designer Carrie Robbins, and scenic, lighting, costume designer and educator Lloyd Burlingame are among the 2012 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, May 4, at 6:30pm, at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Ms. Robbins was selected to receive the 2012 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design, and Mr. Burlingame will receive the Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design.
