This autumn gets off to a flying start at Jermyn Street Theatre with the world premiere of Apri De Angelis’s Infamous, starring the mother and daughter team of Caroline Quentin and Rose Quentin.

Winner of both the Tony and Olivier Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize for author Bruce Norris, Clybourne Park is a razor-sharp satire about the politics of race and real estate. The play returns to London following sell out runs at The Royal Court and in the West End.

Joining the previously announced Michael Fox (Jim/Tom), Andrew Langtree (Karl/Steve), Richard Lintern (Russ/Dan), Imogen Stubbs (Bev/Kathy) and Eric Underwood (Albert/Kevin) are Katie Matsell (Betsy/Lindsey) and Aliyah Odoffin (Francine/Lena).

Having had to shut down the production of Bruce Norris' seminal play Clybourne Park at final dress rehearsal in March 2020, Trish Wadley Productions and David Adkin, in association with Park Theatre, have announced that the production, originally planned for the play's 10th anniversary year, will open at the venue in March.

The Royal Society of Literature (RSL), the charity that represents the voice of literature in the UK, has today in celebration of its 200th birthday announced RSL 200, a five-year festival launched with a series of major new initiatives and 60 new appointments championing the great diversity of writing and writers in the UK.

Artistic Director Edward Hall announces Hampstead Theatre's spring/summer season. The UK premiere of Rajiv Joseph's darkly comic post-truth play Describe the Night will be directed by Lisa Spirling. The world premiere of Jemma Kennedy's blisteringly entertaining Genesis Inc. will be directed by Laurie Sansom. The world premiere of Fiona Doyle's haunting and provocative new drama The Strange Death of John Doe will be directed by Artistic Director Edward Hall for Hampstead Downstairs. The production is a Hampstead Theatre commission and a finalist for The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize. Under 30s can access Priority Booking for all shows via The Downstairs Club - Hampstead's free membership scheme to allow better access to the cheaper seats.

The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has announced 10 Finalists for its prestigious playwriting award, the oldest and largest prize awarded to women playwrights writing in the English language. Chosen from over 150 nominated plays, the Finalists are:

Antic Face and Nik Holttum Productions today announce casting for the UK premi re of award-winning American playwright Jen Silverman's play Collective Rage: A Play in Five Betties. Nina Wadia (Betty 4) and Sara Stewart (Betty 1) lead the all-female company, directed by Charlie Parham, along with Lucy McCormick (Betty 2), Beatriz Romilly (Betty 3) and Genesis Lynea (Betty 5). Collective Rage opens in the Large at Southwark Playhouse on 29 January, with previews from 24 January and runs until 17 February.

Second Stage Theater has announced that Bel Powley will join the previously announced Michael Cera, Chris Evans, and Brian Tyree Henry, to complete the cast of Kenneth Lonergan's Lobby Hero, directed by Trip Cullman.

Artistic Director of Sheffield Theatres Robert Hastie today announces full casting for Kate Hewitt's production of Tribes by Nina Raine. Kate Hewitt, winner of the inaugural RTST Director Award Scheme, directs Ciaran Stewart (Billy), Emily Howlett (Sylvia), Simon Rouse (Christopher), Lindy Whiteford (Beth), Oliver Johnstone (Dan) and Louisa Connolly-Burnham (Ruth). The production opens on 3 July, with previews from 29 June, and runs until 22 July.

Delivering on his promise to “Evolve,” the title of Jackiem Joyner's last soul-jazz album, the saxophonist became a father since his 2014 release, an elation-inducing experience that informs the music he wrote and produced for his new Artistry Music set, “Main Street Beat,” due June 30. The first single from the funky, dance inspiring, Motown-influenced session that will be shipped to radio this month is the exultant “Trinity,” named for Joyner's first child whose presence on the track is voiced by Steve Oliver's incandescent acoustic guitar. 

Considered to be one of Noel Coward's most enduring comedies, Hay Fever will be staged by Citizens Theatre in Glasgow and the Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh this March and April under the direction of Dominic Hill.

Artistic Director of Sheffield Theatres Robert Hastie today announces his inaugural season. The new season opens with Hastie directing William Shakespeare's Julius Caesar bringing Shakespeare back to the Crucible; this will be followed in the Studio by the winner of the new annual RTST Director Award Scheme Kate Hewitt directing the regional premiere of Nina Raine's Tribes.  

With John Malkovich's acclaimed production of Good Canary entering its final week, Rose Theatre Kingston today announces its new season for 2017.  Headlining the season is the world premiere of My Brilliant Friend, a two-part adaptation of Elena Ferrante's Neapolitan quartet of novels which have become a global literary sensation.  The true identity of the author is a mystery, with Elena Ferrante a pseudonym used by the writer, but speculation over the weekend suggested that the author had been unmasked.  

Barrington Stage Company, the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, MA under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, presented the regional premiere of Nina Raine's  award-winning play,Tribes last night on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage and BroadwayWorld was there for the opening night and after party.

The Children's Theatre at Way Off Broadway will follow its sold out run of Junie B. Jones - The Musical with the stage adaptation of another popular children's book series this spring. Opening May 14th, StinkyKids - The Musical will begin performances at the area's one-of-a-kind children's theatre venue.

Ewan Stewart (Titanic) and Gershwyn Eustache Jnr (Home, nut) will complete the cast of The Royale, joining the previously announced Frances Ashman, Clint Dyer and Nicholas Pinnock.

Directed by Pamela Rabe, this Australian premiere opens MTC 's 2015 Season at 8pm Thursday 5 February at Southbank Theatre, The Sumner ahead of a Sydney Theatre Company season.
