Nick Fradiani

Nick Fradiani began his music career as the lead singer of Beach Avenue, a pop/rock band based in Milford, Connecticut. In 2011, the five-member band won the Battle of the Bands at Mohegan Sun. Beach Avenue released the EP Something to Believe In in June 2012 and the EP Driving That Road in July 2013. In 2014, the band released two singles, "Coming Your Way" and "Feel the Beat."

In 2014, Fradiani competed on the ninth season of America's Got Talent with Beach Avenue members Nick Abraham and Ryan Zipp. The group performed its original song "Coming Your Way" during its audition, which aired on NBC in July 2014. The band advanced to Judgment Week, where it performed "Feel the Beat," before being eliminated from the competition.

In 2015, Fradiani competed on the 14th season of American Idol. He auditioned in New York City with Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes," performed David Gray's "Babylon" during Hollywood Week and sang Train's "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)" during the House of Blues Showcase to earn a place in the Top 24. Fradiani won the competition on May 13, 2015, with Clark Beckham finishing as runner-up. His winning song, "Beautiful Life," was released through Big Machine and served as the official anthem of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup. Following his win, Fradiani headlined the American Idols LIVE! Tour 2015, a 37-city tour featuring the season's top five contestants.

In 2015, Fradiani began working on his debut solo album, Hurricane, collaborating with songwriters including Paul Doucette. He performed at events including Live in the Vineyard and Connecticut's All-Star Christmas, where he joined Rob Thomas to sing "Bright Lights." He also represented American Idol at the Television Critics Association's winter panel.

On Feb. 12, 2016, Fradiani returned to American Idol to mentor and perform duets with Top 24 contestants Thomas Stringfellow and Gianna Isabella. The episode featured a preview of his single "Get You Home," which he co-wrote with Nolan Sipe, Jaden Michaels and Rykeyz. The song was released on March 10, 2016, and debuted live on American Idol that night. Its music video, directed by Erik White and featuring model Michelle Hicks, was released on May 19, 2016.

Fradiani's album Hurricane, named after a track he co-wrote with Jason Mraz and Beach Avenue guitarist Nick Abraham, was released on Aug. 5, 2016, and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. The album's second single, "All On You," was also released on Aug. 5, 2016. A black-and-white performance video for the song premiered through Billboard on Dec. 15, 2016, and was filmed at Lyric Hall in New Haven, Connecticut, by Ryan Zipp. Fradiani released the music video for his subsequent single, "Love Is Blind," on Jan. 23, 2017. In January 2017, he parted ways with Big Machine Label Group and 19 Entertainment.

Fradiani released his six-song EP Where We Left Off on Oct. 13, 2017. He wrote the EP with Beach Avenue guitarist Nick Abraham, collaborating with Stephen Kellogg on "I'll Wait for You" and Coley O'Toole on "Run Away." "I'll Wait for You" served as the EP's lead single. On May 4, 2018, Fradiani released an acoustic version of "Scared," the EP's third track, rearranged with Eric Donnelly of The Alternate Routes. Fradiani co-headlined a tour with The Alternate Routes during the summer and fall of 2017.

In October 2019, Fradiani joined the national tour of A Bronx Tale, portraying Lorenzo Anello.

In June 2022, Fradiani portrayed Neil Diamond – Then as an alternate in the pre-Broadway tryout of A Beautiful Noise, a musical based on the life and music of Neil Diamond. The production transferred to Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre in November 2022, with Fradiani initially performing Wednesday evening shows and stepping in when lead actor Will Swenson was absent. On Oct. 31, 2023, Fradiani assumed the role full-time, performing all eight shows each week. A Beautiful Noise closed on Broadway on June 30, 2024.

Fradiani continued as Neil Diamond – Then in the North American tour of A Beautiful Noise, which opened Sept. 21, 2024, at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island. During the tour, he celebrated his 1,000th performance in the role. The tour's final performance is scheduled for July 12, 2026.
