BIO
Layla Capers is a New York City based singer, songwriter and actress. She was born in the Bronx, NY. At the age of four, Layla found her voice singing along to Disney songs, family karaoke nights, and worship at church. She has been captivating audiences with her voice ever since. A child actress, she landed starring roles as Tomika in School of Rock and Young Nala in Disney’s The Lion King on Broadway. Layla is an emerging Teen Artist on the rise, bringing a unique sound that will surely be a game-changer. She is currently creating music, working with music producers, and writers and will soon release her debut EP, entitled “It’s Not Me, It’s You”. Layla’s inspirations are SZA, Olivia Rodrigo, and HER. Layla’s voice is melodic and smooth that will remind you of classic Brandy or Aaliyah. You feel the duplicity of her innocence while at the same time finding her sense of self.
