BIO
After graduating from Juilliard, Oscar Isaac performed in New York theater, including Two Gentlemen of Verona (2005, The Public Theater) and Beauty of the Father (2006, New York City Center). In 2006, he appeared on Law & Order: Criminal Intent and made his film debut in The Nativity Story.
He played Romeo in Romeo and Juliet (2007, The Public Theater) and had supporting film roles in The Life Before Her Eyes (2007), Che (2008), Body of Lies (2008), and Agora (2009). He won the AACTA Award for Best Supporting Actor for Balibo (2009).
Isaac appeared in Robin Hood (2010) and supporting roles in Sucker Punch (2011), W.E. (2011), 10 Years (2011), and Drive (2011). In 2012, he appeared in For Greater Glory, Revenge for Jolly!, The Bourne Legacy, and Won’t Back Down.
His breakthrough came starring in Inside Llewyn Davis (2013), earning a Golden Globe nomination. He also starred in In Secret (2013). In 2014, he appeared in The Two Faces of January and starred in A Most Violent Year, winning the National Board of Review Award for Best Actor.
In 2015, he starred in Ex Machina and led the HBO miniseries Show Me a Hero, winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor (Miniseries/TV Film). He began playing Poe Dameron in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015).
He appeared in X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) and The Promise (2016), starred as Hamlet in Hamlet (2017, The Public Theater), appeared in Suburbicon (2017), and reprised Poe Dameron in Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017).
In 2018, he appeared in Annihilation, produced and starred in Operation Finale, and had roles in At Eternity’s Gate, Life Itself, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (voice). In 2019, he starred in Triple Frontier, voiced Gomez Addams in The Addams Family, and reprised Poe Dameron in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
He starred in and executive produced the short The Letter Room (2020). In 2021, he starred in Scenes from a Marriage, The Card Counter, reprised Gomez in The Addams Family 2, and appeared in Dune.
In 2022, he appeared in Big Gold Brick and starred in and executive produced the Marvel series Moon Knight. In 2023, he starred on stage in The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window (BAM/Broadway) and voiced Spider-Man 2099 in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
Upcoming and recent projects include The King of Kings (2025, voice), In the Hand of Dante (2025), Frankenstein (2025), and the documentary King Hamlet (2025).
