Michael Benjamin Washington (Bernard). Broadway: Joe Mantello’s 50th Anniversary revival of The Boys in the Band (also the Netflix film); the Jerry Zaks revival of La Cage Aux Folles; Mamma Mia! (OBC) at the Winter Garden. Off-Broadway: Signature Theatre’s revival of Anna Deavere’s solo show Fire in the Mirror (Outer Critics, Drama League Awards); Stephen Sondheim’s Saturday Night at Second Stage (Nonesuch Records). Television: Mindy Kailing’s “Not Suitable for Work;” ‘James Baldwin’ in “Godfather of Harlem;” “Ratched;” “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt;” “American Auto;” “30 Rock;” “Law and Order;” “Glee;” among others. He is co-book writer of Disney’s forthcoming Polly! directed by Debbie Allen.
