BIO

K. Todd Freeman is a versatile actor with an extensive career both on stage and screen. He was born on July 9, 1965, in Houston, Texas, and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. Freeman attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Theatre. He then went on to receive his Master of Fine Arts degree from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

Freeman's Broadway debut came in 1993 when he appeared in the production of "The Song of Jacob Zulu," for which he received a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Play. He then went on to appear in several other Broadway productions, including "The Merchant of Venice," "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," and "The Country Girl."
In addition to his work on Broadway, Freeman has also appeared in numerous off-Broadway productions. He received critical acclaim for his performance in the 2017 off-Broadway production of "Notes from the Field," in which he played multiple roles. The play, which was written and performed by Anna Deavere Smith, explored issues of race and inequality in the American education system.
Freeman's work on screen is equally impressive. He has appeared in several television shows, including "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "The X-Files," and "Law & Order." He also had a recurring role on the hit series "A Series of Unfortunate Events," in which he played Mr. Poe.

He received critical acclaim for his performance in the 1994 film "The Crying Game," in which he played the character of Jody. The film was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
In addition to his work in theater, television, and film, Freeman is also an accomplished voice actor. He has lent his voice to several video games, including "The Walking Dead: Season Two" and "BioShock Infinite."
Freeman's most recent work includes his role in the 2020 Netflix series "The Umbrella Academy," in which he played the character of Pogo. The series, which is based on the comic book series of the same name, follows a dysfunctional family of superheroes who reunite to solve the mystery of their father's death.
