Patty Baker is an American actress who has made a name for herself on Broadway. She was born in New York City and grew up in a family that was passionate about the arts. Her parents were both musicians, and they encouraged her to pursue her own artistic interests from a young age.
Baker attended the High School of Performing Arts in New York City, where she studied drama and dance. After graduating, she went on to study at the Juilliard School, where she honed her skills as an actress. Her talent was quickly recognized, and she was soon cast in her first Broadway production.
Baker made her Broadway debut in the 1980 production of "A Chorus Line." She played the role of Kristine, a character who struggles with singing. Her performance was well-received, and she quickly became a sought-after actress in the theater world.
Over the years, Baker has appeared in a number of other Broadway productions. She starred in the 1983 revival of "On Your Toes" and the 1985 production of "Grind." She also appeared in the 1991 production of "The Will Rogers Follies" and the 1993 production of "Passion."
In addition to her work on Broadway, Baker has also appeared in a number of television shows and films. She had a recurring role on the hit television show "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and has also appeared in films such as "The Devil Wears Prada" and "The Nanny Diaries."
Baker is also an accomplished singer, and has released several albums over the years. Her music has been praised for its emotional depth and powerful vocals.
Despite her success in the entertainment industry, Baker has remained grounded and committed to her craft. She is known for her professionalism and dedication to her work, and is highly respected by her peers.
Most recently, Baker appeared in the 2019 Broadway production of "Tootsie." She played the role of Mrs. Mallory, a wealthy socialite who becomes involved in the life of the main character. Her performance was once again praised by critics, who noted her impeccable timing and comedic skills.
