Broadway: A Christmas Carol, Wicked, Beautiful: The Carol King Musical, Honeymoon in Vegas, Cinderella, Memphis, Gypsy, Fiddler on the Roof, Urinetown, Triumph of Love, Anything Goes, Sunday in the Park With George, Evita, others. She starred in the world premiere of Taylor Mac's play, Hir, at the Magic Theatre in San Francisco. Recently she appeared in the Barrington Stage production of On The Town and Washington D.C. audiences saw her as Dolly Levi in Hello, Dolly! at Ford's Theatre. She played Huey Calhoun's mama in Memphis on Broadway, and Melvin Ferd's mama/evil mayor Babs Belgoody in The Toxic Avenger Off-Broadway and at Houston's Alley Theatre. Other Broadway credits include Gypsy with Patti LuPone at City Center, Fiddler on the Roof, Urinetown (Tony nomination, Best Actress in a Musical), Triumph of Love, the Lincoln Center revival of Anything Goes, the original Sunday in the Park with George, and many others. She has originated roles in a number of David Ives plays in All in the Timing, Mere Mortals, and Polish Joke (Drama Desk and Lortel nominations). Other favorite roles include the title role in The Drowsy Chaperone (national tour) and her serio-comic turn in My Deah (Obie Award). On television, she has appeared on "The Big C" all the "Law and Orders," "Flight of the Conchords," "All My Children," and others. In her spare time, she knits sweaters for her poodle.

A record 16 of the 17 credited cast members are transplants from the Broadway run, including an astounding 97% of its behind-the-curtain crew. In essence, we are getting the bona fide Broadway show, from its stars to its set decorators, here in the heart of Florida. I cannot fathom a better way for local audiences to experience INTO THE WOODS.

The Kimmel Cultural Campus and The Shubert Organization will present the Broadway production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Tony Award-winning Into the Woods, as part of a strictly limited engagement running April 4 through 9, 2023 at the Miller Theater in Philadelphia.
The national touring production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Tony Award®-winning triumph, Into the Woods, has been extended in Boston by popular demand. The limited engagement will now play for two weeks only from March 21-April 2 at Emerson Colonial Theatre.

Nancy Opel has been nominated for several awards throughout her career. She was nominated for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical at the Drama Desk Awards for her role in "Honeymoon in Vegas." She also received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress, Resident Musical at the Helen Hayes Awards for her performance in "Hello, Dolly!" Additionally, Opel was nominated for Outstanding Featured Actress at The Lortels for her role in "The Toxic Avenger," and for Outstanding Featured Actress in a Musical at the Drama Desk Awards for the same production. She received a nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Musical at the Outer Critics Circle Awards for "The Toxic Avenger" as well. Opel's performance in "My Deah" earned her a Performance nomination at the Obie Awards. She was also nominated for Outstanding Featured Actress - Play at the Drama Desk Awards for "Polish Joke," and for Outstanding Featured Actress at The Lortels for the same play. Lastly, Opel received a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical at the Tony Awards for her role in "Urinetown The Musical."
