Alex Edelman

Alex Edelman began performing stand-up comedy at age 15 and later helped establish Jerusalem’s first comedy club, Off the Wall Comedy, while studying in Israel after high school. He moved to New York City in 2008 to attend New York University, graduating in 2012 while continuing to perform stand-up and train with Upright Citizens Brigade. He first performed in the United Kingdom in 2012 and made his Australian debut in 2015.

Edelman gained international recognition with his solo show Millennial, which won the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Newcomer at the 2014 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He followed with Everything Handed to You in 2015 and Just For Us in 2018, the latter earning a nomination for Best Show at the Edinburgh Fringe. He has appeared on British television programs including The John Bishop Show, Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled, Live from the BBC, and Roast Battle. He also created the BBC Radio 4 comedy series Alex Edelman’s Peer Group.

As a writer, Edelman contributed to the television series The Great Indoors (2016–2017) and Teenage Bounty Hunters (2020). During the COVID-19 pandemic, he served as head writer for Saturday Night Seder, a virtual celebrity Passover special.

As an actor and writer, Edelman starred as Adam Cooper in the Peacock mockumentary series The Paper, which is based on The Office.
