Sardi’s, the historic Theatre District restaurant known for its celebrity caricatures, will temporarily close for renovations after being acquired by the Shubert Organization. The landmark venue is expected to reopen later this year with upgrades to infrastructure and new management. The restaurant has served as a central hub for the Broadway community since 1927.

Photos have been released from the celebration of Dame Gillian Lynne’s 100th birthday, marked with the unveiling of her portrait at Sardi’s. Lynn passed away in 2018 at the age of 92.

Tony Award nominee and Interim Artistic Director of Roundabout Theatre Company, Scott Ellis, received his iconic caricature at Sardi’s on Thursday, December 4. Check out photos here.
