BIO
Topham performed at the Stratford Shakespeare Festival from 2000 to 2011 and again in 2013. Her roles there included Princess Katherine in Henry V (2001), Diana in All’s Well That Ends Well (2002), Lady Mortimer in Henry IV, Part 1 (2002), Cassandra in Agamemnon (2003), Dot in The Swanne: Princess Charlotte (The Acts of Venus) (2003), Brooke Ashton in Noises Off (2004), Anne Bullen in Henry VIII (2004), Rosalind in As You Like It (2005), Laura in The Glass Menagerie (2006), Jessica in The Merchant of Venice (2006), Grace in London Assurance (2006), Cordelia in King Lear (2007), Mabel in An Ideal Husband (2007), Laurencia in Fuente Ovejuna (2008), Gwendolen in The Importance of Being Earnest (2009), Wendy in Peter Pan (2010), Présidente de Tourvel in Dangerous Liaisons (2010), Olivia in Twelfth Night (2011), Célimène in The Misanthrope (2011), Ruth in Blithe Spirit (2013), and Juliet in Romeo and Juliet (2013).
On Broadway, she appeared as Gwendolen in The Importance of Being Earnest at the American Airlines Theatre from January 13 to June 26, 2011. She performed minor roles and served as understudy for the title role in Thérèse Raquin at Studio 54 from October to November 2015. In 2018, she played Cecily in Travesties at the American Airlines Theatre from April to June. From October 2022 to July 2023, she appeared in Leopoldstadt at the Longacre Theatre, portraying Jana and Sally and serving as an understudy.
Her additional stage credits include Titania and Hippolyta in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2012) at the Shakespeare Theatre Company, Cecily in Travesties (2012) at the McCarter Theatre, Miranda in The Tempest (2012) at Hartford Stage, Gwendolen in The Importance of Being Earnest (2012) at the Roundabout Theatre Company, the Governess in The Turn of the Screw (2008) at the Belfry Theatre, Constanze in Amadeus at Theatre Aquarius, and Mary Hatch in It’s a Wonderful Life at The Grand Theatre in London, Ontario.
In film, she appeared as Anna in Dying to Dance (2001), Rachel Peabody in Eloise at Christmastime (2003), and in film adaptations of The Importance of Being Earnest (2011) and Twelfth Night (2012).
