Most recognized from The Slums of Beverly Hills and American Pie, Lyonne has appeared in over thirty films including But I'm a Cheerleader, Woody Allen's Everyone Says I Love You, Robots, Kate and Leopold, Party Monster and The Grey Zone. Recent theater credits include Tigers Be Still (Roundabout Theater Company's Roundabout Underground), Nora and Delia Ephron's Love, Loss and What I Wore, Mike Leigh's Two Thousand Years at The New Group. Television credits include "Will and Grace," "Loving Leah," "If These Walls Could Talk 2" and "Pee-Wee's Playhouse." Upcoming film projects include All About Evil and Thirteen.
Since 2023, she has starred as Charlie Cale in Poker Face, a Rian Johnson–created mystery anthology series on Peacock. Lyonne also executive‑produces and directed episodes via her company Animal Pictures, which she co‑founded with Maya Rudolph. Poker Face premiered in January 2023, was renewed for Season 2, and earned her a fifth Emmy nomination for Lead Actress.
In 2024, she starred in His Three Daughters alongside Elizabeth Olsen and Carrie Coon, a thoughtful family drama that earned critical praise and was named one of the Top Ten Independent Films of 2024 by the National Board of Review
