Natasha Lyonne

Natasha Lyonne began her acting career as Opal on Pee-wee's Playhouse (1986) and made her film debut in Heartburn (1986). Her early film credits include Dennis the Menace (1993), Everyone Says I Love You (1996), Slums of Beverly Hills (1998), But I'm a Cheerleader (1999), American Pie (1999), Detroit Rock City (1999) and Freeway II: Confessions of a Trickbaby (1999).

Her film work in the 2000s included If These Walls Could Talk 2 (2000), The Grey Zone (2001), Scary Movie 2 (2001), Kate & Leopold (2001), Zig Zag (2002), Die, Mommie, Die! (2003), Party Monster (2003), Blade: Trinity (2004), Madhouse (2004), My Suicidal Sweetheart (2005), The Immaculate Conception of Little Dizzle (2009) and All About Evil (2010).

Lyonne made her New York stage debut in Two Thousand Years (2008). She subsequently appeared in Love, Loss, and What I Wore (2009–2010), Tigers Be Still (2010), Blood from a Stone (2011) and Women Behind Bars (2012).

Her later film credits include 4:44 Last Day on Earth (2011), Sleeping with Other People (2015), Hello, My Name Is Doris (2015), Addicted to Fresno (2015), Hashtag Horror (2015), Antibirth (2016), Yoga Hosers (2016), The Intervention (2016), Handsome (2017), Show Dogs (2018), Honey Boy (2019), Ad Astra (2019), The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021), Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022) and The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025).

Lyonne joined Orange Is the New Black in 2013 as Nicky Nichols, appearing throughout the series' run. She created, produced and starred in Russian Doll (2019–2022) as Nadia Vulvokov and also wrote and directed episodes of the series. Her television credits also include What If...? (2024), in which she voiced Byrdie, and Poker Face (2023–present), in which she stars as Charlie Cale. She also directed episodes of Orange Is the New Black, Shrill and High Fidelity.

Lyonne made her directorial debut with the short film Cabiria, Charity, Chastity (2017). She subsequently directed episodes of Orange Is the New Black, Russian Doll, Shrill, High Fidelity and Poker Face. In 2022, she co-founded the film studio Asteria. She also stars in the Audible Original comedies Space: 1969 and Space: 1972.
