BIO

Debra Cardona is an actress, singer and dramaturg based out of both New York and Los Angeles. She is married to voice actor Darin De Paul.



Born and raised in New York City, this Nuyorican received her BFA in Theater at Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied with Stella Adler. Debra received her MFA in Dramaturgy at Brooklyn College, under the tutelage of L.A. Times theater critic Charles McNulty, and has studied abroad at the Royal National Theater Studio in London.

As an actress, Debra has toured extensively and has had the pleasure of working at many regional theaters, including The Guthrie, the Denver Center, Paper Mill Playhouse and Goodspeed Opera House, as well as in projects directed by Sir Richard Eyre, Sir Trevor Nunn, Jerry Mitchell, Susan Stroman, Mike Ockrent, Ted Pappas, Stafford Arima, James Rocco and Garland Wright. She has also sung in concerts at Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall.

As a dramaturg, Debra has worked with the Classical Theatre of Harlem, Women's Project, the Lark Play Development Center and New Harmony Project. She served on the NEA/TCG Playwright Residency Grant panel, a number of play reading committees, including The Public Theater, The Ebell Playwright Prize and New Harmony Project, and was on the Board of Directors for the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the Americas (LMDA).
