Ford's Theatre Director Paul R. Tetreault announced that acclaimed Washington actor Craig Wallace will return to Ford's to perform the role of Ebenezer Scrooge for the company's holiday production of A Christmas Carol. Performances of the classic Charles Dickens story begin November 15 and continue for a six-and-a-half-week engagement through December 30, 2018. This 'musically high-spirited' and 'infectiously jolly' (The Washington Post) production is adapted by Michael Wilson and directed by Michael Baron. (more...)

Kokandy Productions Names New Producing Artistic Director; Artistic Associates

Kokandy Productions is pleased to announce the appointment of Derek Van Barham as the company's new Producing Artistic Director, succeeding Allison Hendrix, who served in the position since Kokandy was founded in 2010. Barham is joined by three new Artistic Associates: Adrian Abel Azevedo, Leda Hoffmann and Nik Whitcomb. The new artistic team is supported by Kokandy's Board of Directors, which includes: Preston Cropp, Allison Hendrix, Gitta Jacobs, Scot Kokandy and Katie Svaicer. (more...)

The Luckenbooth Theatre Academy Announces Cast For A CHRISTMAS CAROL

In this new adaptation of the beloved tale, written and directed by Artistic Director Megan Hildebrand, the Luckenbooth Theatre is encouraging their Academy Players and community to give back to those in need this holiday season. 'Luckenbooth does a benefit production annually and, with the launch of our Academy this season, we thought there was no better time to give back to our community than during the holidays - to be able to also get our student actors involved has been amazingly rewarding,' says Hildebrand. There are two, simple ways to contribute: Bring a stamped letter to Santa and drop it off in their mailbox located in their lobby - for each letter received, The Make A Wish Foundation will receive $1. You may also bring an unwrapped toy to place under our Christmas tree - all toys donated will be given to Toys for Tots. If you bring a toy on Industry Night (December 6th), it will count as your admission cost! (more...)
