Waitress Revival

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Waitress, which announced yesterday that it would resume performances this Saturday, December 25th will now remain closed, having played its final performance on December 20, 2021.

The December 23rd performance of Waitress on Broadway has been cancelled due to breakthrough infections in the company. The production is expected to resume performances on Christmas Day, December 25, 2021. 

The December 21st and 22nd performances of Waitress on Broadway has been cancelled.

Everyone knows that Thanksgiving is all about the pie and Broadway is happy to have a new pie maker in town! Earlier this week, Ciara Renée officially took over the role of Jenna in Waitress, replacing Jennifer Nettles.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Ciara Renée will join the cast of Waitress on Broadway as Jenna starting November 29, 2021. Renée replaces Jennifer Nettles, who will play her final performance on November 24.

This weekend Tony-nominated composer Sara Bareilles, original cast member Christopher Fitzgerald, and both young actors who portray Lulu, Hattie Cecelia Tutalo and Nora Lincoln Weiner, took their final bows at Waitress on Broadway!

Producers Barry and Fran Weissler today announced added Monday and Sunday evening performances starting November 1st for the hit Broadway musical Waitress, currently playing at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street, NYC) through January 9, 2022. The schedules for the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s can be found below.

The producers of Broadway’s Waitress announced today that on Tuesday October 19, Nik Dodani will take over the role of Ogie and Ben Thompson will step into Earl’s shoes. They join Jennifer Nettles, who will play Jenna through November 24.

This afternoon, the company of Waitress on Broadway gathered on the stage of Broadway’s Barrymore Theatre to commemorate a Mayoral Proclamation declaring Friday, September 17, “Nick Cordero Day” in New York City. 

Rehearsals are in full swing for the national tour of WAITRESS, the hilarious hit Broadway musical from Grammy Award-winner Sara Bareilles.

On September 2, Waitress celebrated its return to Broadway at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, and following in the great Broadway tradition, ensemble member Anastacia McCleskey was awarded the Legacy Robe.

The first musical to return to Broadway, Waitress opened to a sold-out audience on Thursday, September 2, receiving a standing ovation before the performance even began! The audience leapt to their feet eight more times throughout the evening.
