A Turtle on a Fence Post, a new musical comedy, will close on Sunday, November 21 at Theater 555 (555 W. 42nd Street). At the time of closing, the show will have played 18 previews and 9 performances. A Turtle on a Fence Post has a book by Prisoner #11RO731*, music by Austin Nuckols, and lyrics by Lily Dwoskin.

KATSURA SUNSHINE'S RAKUGO to Perform Simultaneously at New World Stages & Leicester Square Theater

The world’s only Western Rakugo Master, Katsura Sunshine, will return to live performances on two continents simultaneously. Beginning on December 12th, Katsura Sunshine’s Rakugo will play the West End with a year-long residency at the Leicester Square Theater and will return to New York City’s New World Stages on January 27th, 2022.
Origin Theatre Company to Announce 2021-22 Season at Upcoming Gala Dinner

Origin Theatre Company will announce the bulk of its current 19th season at a gala dinner at the Manhattan Penthouse, 80 Fifth Avenue (at 14th Street), on Tuesday December 7, at 6:30pm.  The evening will honor Origin’s founder George C. Heslin and board member Andrea Haughian, vice president of business development for Invest Northern Ireland.
Soho Rep Extends WHILE YOU WERE PARTYING

Soho Rep has added two weeks of performances to the world premiere of while you were partying, created by Peter Mills Weiss and Julia Mounsey with Brian Fiddyment, which opened Wednesday night (November 10). The show, which is Soho Rep’s first full production since before the COVID-19 shutdown, will now run through December 12.

Written by Susan Smith Blackburn Prize winner Erika Dickerson-Despenza and directed by Lilly Award winner Candis C. Jones, CULLUD WATTAH follows three generations of Black women living through the Flint Water Crisis.

Now in its 30th season, Obie Award-winning Metropolitan Playhouse is accepting submissions for its 17th presentation of East Village Chronicles,  a festival of new one-act plays inspired by the diverse population, culture, and history of Manhattan's Lower East Side.
