BIO
Peter Dinklage made his credited film debut in the independent comedy-drama Living in Oblivion (1995), starring alongside Steve Buscemi. He appeared the following year in the crime drama Bullet (1996), starring Tupac Shakur. He later appeared in the comedy 13 Moons (2002). His breakthrough came with the film The Station Agent (2003), directed by Tom McCarthy. That same year he appeared in the film Tiptoes (2003) and the holiday comedy Elf (2003), starring Will Ferrell. In 2005 he appeared in the television series Threshold and the film The Baxter (2005), and he appeared in the film Lassie (2005).
In 2006 Dinklage co-starred with Vin Diesel in Find Me Guilty (2006), directed by Sidney Lumet. He also appeared in the television series Nip/Tuck (2006), Entourage (2006), and 30 Rock (2006), and appeared in the film Penelope (2006). He appeared in the comedy Death at a Funeral (2007) and its American remake Death at a Funeral (2010), as well as the film Underdog (2007). In 2008 he appeared in The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008) and performed in a stage production of Uncle Vanya at Bard College. In 2010 he appeared in the film I Love You Too (2010).
From 2011 to 2019, Dinklage portrayed Tyrion Lannister in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones, based on the novels by George R. R. Martin. During this period he also appeared in the film A Little Bit of Heaven (2011) with Kate Hudson and voiced Captain Gutt in the animated film Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012). He hosted an episode of Saturday Night Live in 2016. His film roles during the decade included Knights of Badassdom (2014), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), Pixels (2015), The Angry Birds Movie (2016), Rememory (2017), Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017), and I Think We're Alone Now (2018). He also appeared in Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and starred in the HBO film My Dinner with Hervé (2018). In 2016 he co-founded the production company Estuary Films.
Dinklage later starred in the musical stage production Cyrano in 2018, later reprising the role in the film Cyrano (2021). He appeared in the film I Care a Lot (2020). His later credits include Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023), She Came to Me (2023), and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (2023). In 2024 he appeared in Unfrosted and the film The Thicket, which he also produced. He also voiced Hercule Poirot in an Audible adaptation of The Mysterious Affair at Styles (2024). In 2025 he starred in The Toxic Avenger and appeared in the television series Dexter: Resurrection (2025). He also voiced Dr. Dillamond in the film adaptation of the musical Wicked.
