Rebecca Hall

Rebecca Hall’s first professional role was as young Sophy in the television adaptation of The Camomile Lawn (1992). She made her feature film debut in Starter for Ten (2006) and appeared the same year in The Prestige (2006). In 2007, she appeared in Joe’s Palace, Wide Sargasso Sea, and Rubberheart.

In 2008, she starred in Vicky Cristina Barcelona and appeared in Frost/Nixon. She next appeared in Dorian Gray (2009) and Please Give (2010), followed by The Town (2010). She won the BAFTA Television Award for Best Supporting Actress for Red Riding: In the Year of Our Lord 1974 (2009). She starred in The Awakening (2011).

Her subsequent film and television work includes Lay the Favorite (2012), Parade’s End (2012, BAFTA nomination), Iron Man 3 (2013), Closed Circuit (2013), Transcendence (2014), Tumbledown (2015), The Gift (2015), Christine (2016), Professor Marston and the Wonder Women (2017), and A Rainy Day in New York (2017). She provided English dubbing for Mirai (2018).

In 2021, Hall starred in and co-executive produced The Night House, appeared in Godzilla vs. Kong, and made her directorial debut with Passing (2021), which she wrote and co-produced.

On stage, she made her professional debut as Vivie in Mrs. Warren’s Profession (2002), winning the Ian Charleson Award (2003). Her theatre credits include As You Like It (2003, 2005 tour), The Fight for Barbara (2003), Man and Superman (2004), Galileo’s Daughter (2004), Don Juan (2004), The Winter’s Tale and The Cherry Orchard (2008–2009), Twelfth Night (2010–2011), and her Broadway debut in Machinal (2013–2014).
