BIO

Anthony Rapp is an accomplished stage and screen actor, writer, and director whose career spans Broadway, the West End, film, and television. He first rose to prominence as Mark Cohen in Jonathan Larson’s Rent, originating the role Off-Broadway in 1996 before continuing with the Broadway production, West End staging, and national tour, as well as reprising the role in the 2005 film adaptation.


His extensive theatre credits also include You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown on Broadway, Six Degrees of Separation, Precious Sons, and The Little Prince and the Aviator. Off-Broadway, he has appeared in productions such as Raised in Captivity, Sophistry, Trafficking in Broken Hearts, and Some Americans Abroad, while additional stage highlights include If/Then on Broadway and national tour, Without You in the West End, and Anthony Rapp’s Without You, his autobiographical solo show performed Off-Broadway. He has also appeared in Touch and served as assistant director on next to normal.

His film credits include Adventures in Babysitting, Dazed and Confused, A Beautiful Mind, Road Trip, School Ties, and Six Degrees of Separation, among many others. On television, he is widely known for his role as Lt. Cmdr. Paul Stamets in Star Trek: Discovery, appearing from 2017 to 2024, and has also been seen in series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Good Fight, and Kidnapped.

In addition to his stage and screen work, Rapp released the album Look Around (2000) and published the memoir Without You (2006), which he later adapted into a one-man stage show performed beginning in 2007, including at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, with a recording released in 2012.

The Festival triumphantly concluded their inaugural weekend at Kingston’s Hutton Brickyards Riverfront Hotel + Venue. Produced by Joshua Saltman and David B. Schwartz, the first-of-its kind celebration of Broadway’s greatest hits and brightest stars welcomed 2,875 attendees from 48 of the 50 states and featured 165 on stage performers across more than 30 programs over three days, including 30 musicians, 14 ensemble members, and 13 apprentices. At the end of the weekend, it was revealed that The Festival will return in 2027.
