Chris Noth is an American actor known for his work on both stage and screen. He was born on November 13, 1954, in Madison, Wisconsin, and grew up in Stamford, Connecticut. Noth attended the Yale School of Drama, where he earned his Master of Fine Arts degree.
Noth began his career in theater, making his Broadway debut in 1981 in the revival of "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas." He went on to appear in several other Broadway productions, including "Gore Vidal's The Best Man" and "That Championship Season." Noth's stage work has earned him critical acclaim, and he has been nominated for several awards, including a Tony Award for his performance in "Gore Vidal's The Best Man."
In addition to his work on stage, Noth has had a successful career on television and in film. He is perhaps best known for his role as Detective Mike Logan on the long-running television series "Law & Order." Noth appeared on the show from 1990 to 1995, and then again in 2005. He also starred in the spin-off series "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" from 2001 to 2008.
Noth's film credits include "Cast Away," "The Perfect Man," and "Sex and the City: The Movie." He also appeared in the television series "The Good Wife" from 2009 to 2016, for which he received a Golden Globe nomination.
In recent years, Noth has continued to work in both television and film. He appeared in the 2017 film "Chronically Metropolitan" and the television series "Gone" in 2018. Most recently, Noth starred in the television series "Manhunt: Unabomber" in 2017 and "Gone" in 2019.
Off-screen, Noth is involved in several charitable organizations. He is a board member of the Rainforest Action Network and has worked with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
