Once On This Island opened on December 3 at Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th Street) to rave reviews.

As BroadwayWorld previously announced, Lea Salonga steps back into the role of Erzulie in Once On This Island, beginning today, December 27.

Anything can happen when it comes to live theatre. That was proven on Friday night when a performance of Once On This Island was stopped mid-song to help a struggling audience member, according to Page Six.

BroadwayWorld has learned that Michelle Williams has been advised by her doctors to take a leave of absence from performing. Lea Salonga, who originated the role in this production will play Erzulie from December 27 through its final performance on January 6.

The Actors Fund announced today that Once On This Island has added a Special Benefit Performance for The Actors Fund. This benefit performance will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 8:00 pm at the Circle in the Square Theatre (235 West 50th Street).

Actors' Equity Association has announced that Once on This Island will receive the eleventh annual Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Award for the 2017-2018 season. Presented by Equity's National Equal Employment Opportunity Committee, the Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Award honors shows that exemplify and promote the union's founding principles of diversity, inclusion, non-traditional casting and equal opportunity for all who work in the theatre.
