Seema Sueko-Low founded The Hawai'i Theatre Project seeks to utilize a database of artists to widen the scope of what Hawai'i theatre can achieve. She says, 'We can gain a lot by sharing across our islands and across the oceans. Given our population size, we might not have the local audience to sustain a robust theater sector here. But once we widen our boundaries, our market size grows, as does our proximity to opportunities.'

Bess Wohl's play SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS will open at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, starring Martin Freeman, Greta Lee, Sarah Paulson, Isaac Powell, Julia Roberts, and Paul Rudd.

The large majority of our 41 Broadway theaters were built to be Broadway theaters. Other than the Winter Garden, which was originally a horse exchange, the Nederlander, which was originally a carpenter’s shop, and the Broadway and Lunt-Fontanne which were originally movie theaters, every current Broadway house was intended from the beginning to present Broadway shows. As for off-Broadway? The opposite is true.

ONCE ON THIS ISLAND will be presented at the Historic Cheney Hall in Manchester this spring. The musical features book and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens and music by Stephen Flaherty and is inspired by The Little Mermaid.

The Broadway production of Ragtime was a glorious accomplishment, a riveting testament to the original American musical and to all that America itself could be. The show ran for 834 performances at the Ford Center, closing in the final year of the 20th century. It was nominated for 13 Tony Awards, taking home four.

Once on this Island is a Caribbean story about an orphan peasant girl, Ti Moune, who rescues a wealthy boy, Daniel, after a car accident. It is a story about the complicated nature of love. Jasmine Graham voice was perfect for the character Ti Moune.
